The people who make Langley better
Every community has them. The coach who gave up thirty years of Saturdays. The volunteer who has run the same fundraiser since before you moved here. The shop owner who has never once said no to a school raffle. Most of us never learn their names. Langley Legends is where we tell their stories properly, and say thank you.
A neighbour, a teammate, a grandchild, a customer. Anyone who knows what this person has done for Langley.
We read every nomination, check the facts, and gather the stories from people who know them. No one pays, campaigns or votes their way in.
A full profile: their life, what they've done, photos through the years and what the people around them say. Something their family can keep.
The first Legend is coming soon
What makes a Langley Legend
- Years, not moments. A long record of giving back: coaching, volunteering, organising, mentoring, caring for people.
- Langley through and through. Their difference was made here, in the City or the Township.
- All kinds of people. Volunteers, coaches, teachers, nurses, farmers, faith and service club members, first responders, artists, and the people behind local businesses.
- Still with us, or remembered. We honour people living and passed. Families are welcome to nominate someone in their memory.
- Quiet heroes first. The best nominations are people who would never put their own name forward.
- Never political. We celebrate service to the community, not campaigns or causes. Elected officials are covered elsewhere on the site.
The nomination takes a bit of time, because a Legend deserves a real story: their background, what they've done, a few photos, and what five people who know them would say. It's worth it. We take it from there.
