Tamara Jansen is the federal MP for Cloverdale—Langley City, the riding that covers the whole City of Langley and part of Surrey. This page gathers what she, her party and others have published. It is a neutral summary, not an endorsement or a review.

Background

Her VoteMate profile describes her as a Langley native and longtime community contributor. According to Wikipedia, she was born and raised in Cloverdale and, before politics, owned and ran Darvonda Nurseries in Langley with her family. She was first elected in 2019, lost the seat in 2021, and won it back in the December 16, 2024 by-election with 9,936 votes (66.23%), per the same article.

Business and community affiliations

As published on her VoteMate profile, she has run an agricultural business with her husband for over 30 years. Wikipedia names the business as Darvonda Nurseries and says she later sold it to her son. We found no other business interests published.

On the record

Campaign commitments (2026)

These are from the 2025 federal campaign. Her VoteMate profile says she added no promises of her own, so the items below are the Conservative Party commitments listed there, as retrieved April 17, 2025.

  • Remove GST on new homes up to $1.3 million, and encourage municipalities to free up land, speed permits and cut development charges (party platform) — VoteMate, April 2025
  • Lower the lowest federal income tax bracket rate from 15% to 12.75% (party platform) — VoteMate, April 2025
  • Let working seniors earn up to $34,000 tax-free (party platform) — VoteMate, April 2025
  • Mandatory life sentences for fentanyl trafficking, five or more human trafficking counts, or importing or exporting ten or more illegal firearms (party platform) — VoteMate, April 2025
  • Allow an extra $5,000 a year in TFSA contributions for investments in Canadian companies (party platform) — VoteMate, April 2025

Her profile states her own priorities as supporting seniors, people with disabilities, small businesses and young families. A December 2024 by-election questionnaire from Move Up Together lists “No response received by deadline” for her answers, so we have no quotes from it.

This section exists so readers can check later whether commitments were kept. Know of something on the record we’ve missed? Send us the source.
