Metro Vancouver calls this loop wheelchair accessible, and it’s the one Langley walk you can recommend to a grandparent, a stroller and a toddler who’ll walk a bit and then quit — you can turn around anywhere.
The surface
Wide, packed gravel the whole way, with two raised boardwalks over the Little Campbell River. The mud warnings in the park brochure are for the Shaggy Mane and Ravine trails, not this one; the thing to watch here is the boardwalk, which gets slick when wet. Look down from the bridges in October and November — salmon are in the deeper pools.
16 Avenue vs 8 Avenue
The 16 Ave lot is where the loop starts, and it’s the one that fills: sunny weekend mornings, and even winter weekend afternoons. Before nine or after two on a weekend, or any weekday, and you’ll be fine. The 8 Ave lot has a shelter, drinking water, the Nature House and the heritage farm next door, and it almost never fills — but it’s a stretch of connecting trail to reach the loop. With a stroller, 16 Ave is the easier day; with time to wander, 8 Ave is the nicer one.
Washrooms and dogs
Pit toilets at both lots, accessible stalls at both. Dogs are everywhere here and the leash rule on the loop is enforced; the off-leash field is at 4 Ave. Horses have the right of way where the loop crosses their trails.
We’ll push a stroller around it in the wet and score it. This page gets the number when we have it.
