Rent the gold forklift, and half the bill goes to Langley seniors
A 50-year-old forklift dealer on Gloucester Way painted one rental unit gold for its anniversary and is giving half of what it earns, for a year, to the Langley Senior Resources Society.

Somewhere in the Fraser Valley right now there is a gold forklift moving pallets, and every hour it’s on hire, half the rental fee is going to the seniors’ centre on 51B Avenue.
Westminster Lift Truck & Services, the forklift dealer at 27316 Gloucester Way in the Township of Langley, turned 50 in June. Its site calls it a locally owned dealership and puts the golden anniversary at June 2026. To mark the year, the Aldergrove Star reported in September, the company painted a rental unit gold, named the Langley Senior Resources Society its charity for its anniversary year, and promised the society 50 per cent of everything the gold machine earns in rentals, with more fundraising events to follow. The owner told the paper the business wanted the milestone to give something back to the community that has kept it going; the society’s executive director called it an incredible gesture.
LSRS is a non-profit charity that runs the seniors’ recreation and resource centre at 20605 51B Avenue in Langley City for people 50 and over, plus the largest adult day program in Fraser Health, with about 55 staff and more than 160 volunteers. It has also started running programs out of Aldergrove Heritage Hall at 3015 273 Street. Our seniors’ guide covers what else is on offer around Langley.
What this means in practice: if your business, farm or warehouse ever rents a forklift, asking for the gold one is the easiest donation you’ll make this year. Rentals are booked through westlift.ca or 877-580-2611. If you have no use for a forklift, LSRS takes donations directly at lsrs.ca/donate, and an annual membership at the centre is $67.
