C-Lovers Langley and the all-you-can-eat question
Hand-cut chips, halibut that's battered thin, and all-you-can-eat fish and chips every day. A short take on the Langley City location of a BC fish-and-chip chain.

The sign on the menu says “all-you-can-eat fish and chips, every day, any time”, and that is most of the reason people walk in. It’s $21.99 a head, pop included, and the rules are simple: no sharing, no peeling off the batter to eat just the fish.
We usually skip it anyway and order halibut. C-Lovers buys Alaskan halibut and batters it thin, so you taste fish rather than a doughnut. The chips are cut in the kitchen from Kennebec potatoes, which is less common than it should be. If you’re not a halibut person, cod, haddock and salmon are on the board too, plus prawns, oysters and a seafood chowder with halibut and bacon in it.
This is a chain, to be clear: C-Lovers started in Coquitlam in 1984 and has about a dozen locations in BC and Alberta, some of them franchised. It’s an Ocean Wise partner, so the seafood comes from sources the aquarium program rates as sustainable.
Go if you want proper battered fish without driving to the water, or you’ve got a hungry teenager and a flat-rate budget. Skip if you want somewhere to linger; this is a come-in, eat, go-home kind of place.
