If you knew Fort Family on Glover Road, you haven’t lost it. After 17 years there, the clinic moved one block over to Church Street on June 1, 2025, into the low grey building with the rusted-steel planters and the bench out front. There’s a small lot right in front, which in the Fort on a weekend would be a minor miracle, but the clinic is a weekday operation anyway.

Who runs it

Drs. Shaun and Lana Patterson opened Fort Family in 2008, and both are about as local as it gets. Shaun went to Fort Langley Elementary and has lived in the Fort for more than 30 years. Lana grew up in Langley too, at the Langley Fine Arts School and then Walnut Grove Secondary. Both studied at SFU (kinesiology for him, biology for her) before chiropractic school in Southern California. Shaun spent time in a practice in Galway, Ireland, before coming home; Lana worked as a personal trainer before chiropractic. His particular interest is pregnancy and kids: he’s certified in the Webster technique and belongs to the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association.

They’ve since been joined by Dr. Ciana Morrison, another Langley kid, who rowed for the University of the Fraser Valley on the Bedford Channel right below the village. She practised in Chilliwack for seven years before coming back closer to home.

The whole family, literally

The name isn’t a slogan. The clinic says it has seen patients from babies only hours old up to its oldest, who is 100. The new space is set up for it: the treatment rooms have loveseats for whoever came along, there’s a kids’ corner with a red lion chair, play mats and bins of books and toys, and one wall is covered in framed kids’ paintings. It feels more like a living room than a clinic.

Before your first appointment

  • Call to book. Everything goes through the front desk at 604-888-4844.
  • Do the paperwork at home. The new patients page has separate intake forms for adults and teens (13+), kids 6 to 12, and infants up to 5.
  • Allow about 45 minutes. The first visit covers your health history, an assessment of posture, movement and spine, a talk through the benefits, risks and alternatives, and a first adjustment if it’s a fit for you.
  • On an ICBC claim? The clinic shows ICBC’s recovery logo on its site. Ask the front desk how billing works for your claim before you go.

The rest of the village is right there, so make an outing of it. Our Fort Langley guide has what’s nearby.
