The Downtown Langley Business Association, or DLBA, is the group of downtown businesses and property owners in the City of Langley who pitch in together to promote the neighbourhood. The City’s own business page calls it a member-driven organisation with about 600 members, doing marketing, promotions and events. Its site describes downtown as a walkable district with more than 500 shops, restaurants and services, including Innes Corners and McBurney Plaza.
What it runs
The DLBA’s website lists a handful of regular events. Dates move around from year to year, so we only give what the site says right now.
- McBurney Plaza Summer Concert Series. Free outdoor concerts by local performers at McBurney Plaza. The page says to bring a chair. At last check it said 2027 dates were still to come.
- Arts Alive Festival. A free, family-friendly day with more than 200 visual and performing artists, a showcase stage, food trucks and kids’ activities, on Fraser Highway at McBurney Plaza and the one-way block between 204 and 206 Streets. The site shows a Saturday in August but no year.
- Fork & Finger. A foodie afternoon at McBurney Plaza. Pick up a free passport, collect three stamps by buying from taking-part restaurants and cafés, and you can enter a draw for Downtown Dollars. The latest listed date was Saturday, August 22 (11 am to 4 pm), and the page says the 2027 date is still to be announced.
The site also has a Mural Walk page, a galleries page and a store directory. For a general look at what’s on across town, see our events page.
Downtown Dollars
Downtown Dollars work a bit like a local gift card. You buy them at face value and spend them at taking-part downtown businesses like cash. The DLBA’s page says they don’t expire, can be mixed with cash or cards, and that more than 100 businesses in 35-plus categories accept them. The program began in 2011. You can order on the site and pick up at the office, or visit the office by appointment. Phone first to set a time.
For business owners
The “For Businesses” part of the site covers the Downtown Dollars program, a shop-local campaign and the annual general meeting. It doesn’t lay out membership steps or a levy, so the office is the place to ask: phone 604 539 0133 or email [email protected]. If you’re weighing a downtown spot, our Starting a business in Langley guide covers licences, and the Chamber is the other main business group.
The 2026 AGM notice says the meeting is open to property and business owners inside the DLBA’s BIA boundaries and to Discover Langley City partners. It is set for Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 6 to 7 pm on Zoom, with registration closing on October 30. The notice doesn’t describe the boundaries, so ask the office for a map.
Getting there
The office is on Fraser Highway in the City. Our City vs. Township page explains why downtown sits under the City council rather than the Township’s.
