Williams Park is a quiet patch of forest in the Township’s rural east side, with the Salmon River running through it. It’s an easy place for a picnic, a stroll with a stroller, and, in December, a slow drive past a lot of lights.
What’s here
The Township’s listing names drinking water, a restroom, picnic shelters, trails, a play area and parking, set in forest beside a watercourse. A park map is available as a PDF on the listing page. The listing gives no trail lengths, so we haven’t guessed any.
The Salmon River
The Township says the Salmon River has the largest wild Pacific salmon run in Langley, and the Langley Environmental Partners Society’s director is quoted as saying prime spawning areas are in Williams Park. For BC Rivers Day the Township set up a flat, stroller-friendly StoryWalk along the river, displaying pages of a salmon-run storybook. That one was a temporary seasonal display, so check the Township’s news pages for the next one.
Holiday Lights
For the 2025 season the Township ran a free, drive-through light display here with over 195,000 lights, December 13 to 28, 5 to 9 pm, closed December 24 to 26. Advance online registration was required (no drop-ins), at tol.ca/holidaylights, booked in 30-minute slots with one registration per vehicle. Donations were optional and went to the Aldergrove Food Bank, which the Township says received $55,498.33 in 2024. Dates and rules may change, so check the Township’s site for this year. Watch events for this year’s dates.
A note on trails
In October 2024 the Township published a map titled “Williams Park Path Closure - Storm Damage”. It doesn’t say how long the closure lasted, so call the Township before counting on a particular path.
