The question every December: does a family need to spend close to a hundred dollars to see Christmas lights in Langley? Here’s the 2026 field.
Glow
Tenth year, a new underwater theme, and a three-storey walk-through “Crystal Palace” that’s the headline this season. About half of it is outdoors, with covered and heated stretches for a wet night. Most people spend about two hours. The things visitors keep raising are hot-drink lines and food-stand prices, and the fix is a weeknight: select Monday, Wednesday and Thursday dates in December knock about a third off an adult ticket. Note it’s closed Sundays — so for the first weekend of December that means Friday the 4th or Saturday the 5th.
Merry & Bright
The other ticketed one, new-ish, on the film-set streets at Martini Town in Aldergrove: a lit backlot, a heated market tent with local vendors, food trucks, live music, Santa in the gazebo until Dec 23. Open all three days of the first December weekend. Part of ticket sales goes to the Langley Food Bank. Parking is free but tight; carpool.
The free night
Load the thermos, put the Advance Times’ map on the phone, and start in Brookswood where the synchronized-music house lives, then Walnut Grove and the south-Langley displays if the kids are still awake. Several houses collect for the food banks; bring a few dollars. Williams Park’s drive-through is the free showpiece, but it usually doesn’t open until the second weekend and needs a free time-slot booking, so it’s a return trip. One change for 2026: the Whoville walk-through on 43 Avenue has reportedly ended, so don’t drive out expecting it.
We’ll do Glow on the first weekend and the drive-around the night after, and score both. This page gets the “is it worth it” answer when we have it.
