Ask for the rooftop. That’s the whole tip, really. Tap & Barrel built two floors in Willowbrook’s Courtyard, and the top one is a patio under a roof with heaters and glass sides, so it works in November as well as July. Downstairs there’s a second patio facing the Courtyard, where the mall puts on events.
This is the seventh location of a Vancouver group that started in Olympic Village in 2012. It’s BC-owned but not a Langley business, and it opened here in 2024 after a long build.
The menu is comfort food with a few detours. Start with the fried pickles ($13.50) and the truffle waffle fries if you’re sharing. The porcini-crusted beef dip and the Tap burger are the safe mains; the Korean fried chicken bowl and the Mediterranean bowl with falafel or halloumi are the lighter ones. There are pizzas, a fish and chips, and a separate kids menu. Gluten-free buns and pizza crust cost a couple of dollars extra.
Weekend brunch is worth knowing about: bennies, a breakfast burger and caramelized French toast, and every brunch plate is $4 off until noon on weekends and holidays.
It’s a sports-on-the-TVs, music-on kind of room, livelier as the night goes on. A weekday lunch is the calm version. There’s a private space for groups up to 50 and free parking in the mall lot.
Go if you want a sit-down meal with a view and a menu everyone at the table can find something on. Skip if you’re after a quiet dinner for two.
