If you’ve been to the Langley Edmonds before, note the new address. The store moved this fall to what the company calls its new flagship location, at #117 – 20575 Langley Bypass, opening there on September 8, 2026.

Who they are

Edmonds Batteries began in Burnaby in the 1970s, when the founders bought an old mom-and-pop battery shop and kept it going; the company dates itself to 1977. It’s grown to three stores, in Burnaby, Langley and Abbotsford, and stayed a specialist: batteries, chargers, cables and the know-how to match them to the job. It’s an independent B.C. business rather than a chain, though not owned out of Langley.

What they sell

Just about every kind of battery a Langley household or business runs into:

  • Cars and trucks, including their own Edmonds brand plus Deka, NorthStar, Optima and Global Sebang.
  • Marine: starting and deep-cycle, 8-volt and 12-volt, AGM. They’re a distributor for Rolls marine batteries.
  • RV and cabin: 6-volt and 12-volt deep-cycle sets and lithium options.
  • Powersports: motorcycles, ATVs, dirt bikes, sleds and jet skis.
  • Commercial and farm: big batteries for highway trucks, excavators and tractors.
  • SLA (sealed lead acid) for alarms, mobility scooters, medical devices and e-bikes, plus everyday AA-type household cells.
  • Solar: panels, batteries and inverters for off-grid setups.

There’s also a wholesale program for shops and fleets.

The services

Testing is free, including a check of your car’s charging system, so you find out whether it’s really the battery before you pay for one. If a battery might be saved, they’ll try a recharge; if it can’t be, the recharge fee goes toward the replacement. Installation doesn’t need an appointment for most vehicles.

They also take old batteries for recycling and pay cash for lead-acid, AGM, SLA and gel batteries; call ahead if you’ve got a big load. The company says it diverted more than 10,700 tonnes of used lead-acid batteries from landfill across its network in 2025.

First-timer notes

Saturday hours are a bonus in this business, but the store closes at 5 and is shut Sundays. If the car won’t start at all, phone the store before you arrange a tow; the free test is the first step either way.
