Seven events over two days: 100 m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 m, then long jump, javelin and 800 m. Georgia Ellenwood has been doing the heptathlon for Canada since she was a teenager at Langley Secondary.

She was born in Vancouver, grew up in Langley and graduated from Langley Secondary in 2013. Her international career had already started by then: Olympic.ca lists her at the 2011 World Youth Championships (12th), the 2012 World Junior Championships, and a bronze at the 2013 Pan American Junior Championships.

Wisconsin

She went to the University of Wisconsin and became an eight-time NCAA Division I All-American. Her best year was 2018. She won the NCAA outdoor heptathlon title with 6,146 points, was named the Big Ten’s field athlete of the year, and then won her first Canadian senior heptathlon title, which doubled as the Pan American Combined Events Cup in Ottawa.
