KPU Langley Campus

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has several campuses around the region, and the Langley one sits on the Langley Bypass. If you have driven past the low buildings and the big fields there, that is it. It is a working campus with labs, greenhouses and gardens, and every Friday afternoon it is also, in a small way, a brewery shop.

What goes on there

KPU’s page does not give one tidy list of Langley programs and sends you to the general program list, so we will stick to what it does say. For a Discovery Day event, KPU featured the Faculty of Health, Horticulture, the Melville School of Business and the Faculty of Arts, and said visitors could see:

• nursing labs with simulation technology
• horticulture labs, a botany lab, greenhouses and plant nurseries
• a horticulture field lab with 0.3 hectares of gardens and beds
• a one-hectare turf training facility
• a brewing instructional laboratory

That event took place in February 2025, so treat it as a snapshot of what the campus has, not a timetable. Check the KPU program list for what is taught at Langley right now. We did not find a farm school mentioned on KPU’s Langley pages, so we have left it out.

The KPU Brew Lab

The Brew Lab is a teaching brewery in Building 1400. KPU describes about 4,500 square feet, a two-hectolitre pilot brewing system and six 50-litre systems, and says it supports the Brewing and Brewery Operations program. Second-year students release a Signature Series of beers each year.

The public can buy student-brewed beer on Fridays from 1pm to 6pm (not on statutory holidays or KPU closures), including growler fills and sometimes cans or bottles. You need to be 19 or older, and KPU lists the sale dates on its campus page. Prices change, so use KPU’s page, not ours.

Getting there

KPU’s pages list 20901 Langley Bypass as the address. The parking page shows 24 accessible spaces at Langley and says pay parking applies at all KPU campuses, around the clock. It does not give the hourly rates. KPU’s transit information points to TransLink’s trip planner and mentions U-Pass BC for eligible students, but does not list Langley bus routes, so use the TransLink trip planner. There is also a free shuttle between the Surrey, Tech and Langley campuses for people with a KPU card.

Open to the public
