Junior hockey in a 5,000-seat bowl where no seat is bad. On paper it’s the cheapest big-crowd night a Langley family can buy. Here’s what to know before you book.

What it costs

Four single tickets land somewhere between $100 and $190 depending on the tier, plus $2.50 each in fees. The White Spot Pack is the obvious family move: four seats and a $40 gift card from $125, and the gift card roughly covers dinner at the Triple O’s on the concourse. Parking is free, which is rare for a night out anywhere.

Where to sit with small kids

Two schools of thought from people who go a lot. Lower rows near centre ice for the hockey. The ends if your kids need to get up and move — the upper concourse loops the whole bowl with the ice in view, so a lap doesn’t mean missing the game. Those end seats are also the cheaper tier.

The night itself

Doors open an hour and a half before the puck, and the main lot by the doors fills first, so 45 minutes ahead is about right. Theme nights are the family ones: Trick or Suite on Oct 30, Minor Hockey Night Nov 7, the Teddy Bear Toss on Dec 12, and a Family Day matinee at 2 pm on Feb 15. Kids under ten mostly remember the intermission games and the slushies.

The getaway

The number everyone asks for. Everyone leaves at once and 200 St at 80 Ave is the pinch; regulars say fifteen to thirty minutes to clear. Either wait five minutes in your seat or park in the 202A St lot and leave the other way.

We’ll go, time the exit with a stopwatch, and score the night. This page gets the number when we have it.
