The Vancouver Giants are a major junior hockey team in the Western Hockey League. The name says Vancouver, but the home games are in the Township of Langley, at the Langley Events Centre. If you have never been to a WHL game, picture fast hockey, young players chasing a pro career, and an arena that gets loud.
Where and when
According to the team’s site, the Giants have played at the LEC since the 2016-17 season. The upcoming home games on their schedule are listed at the Langley Events Centre, so you can plan on that building. The LEC’s own Teams page lists the Giants as a tenant too, and our teams page shows where they fit alongside the other teams in the building.
Schedules change through the season, so check the Giants’ site for game dates and puck drop. For parking and directions, see our Events Centre page.
Tickets
The team’s ticket page lists a few ways to buy:
- single-game tickets, with a “buy tickets” link on each home game
- season tickets and flex packs
- group tickets
- suites and lounges
- gift cards
You can also buy in person at the LEC Box Office. The Giants’ ticket page says it is open daily from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM, and gives 604.882.8800 for the box office and 604.444.2687 for the Giants ticket office. Prices vary by game. When we looked, the games listed ran from about $23.50 to $52.45, but check the page for the game you want.
How to follow
Games are streamed on the WHL’s YouTube channel, and the team’s site has a radio stream for audio. The site also carries news, highlights, photo galleries and lineups. For anything else, the team has a contact page, and there is information for billets and media on the site.
A short history
The team’s own site says the Giants were inaugurated in 2001-02 and calls the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver its first home. The same article says the team moved to the Langley Events Centre in the Township of Langley for 2016-17. The Giants still return to the Coliseum for the odd special event, and the team has announced December dates there in past seasons.
