Last March the best women’s university volleyball teams in the country came to Langley. The 2026 U SPORTS Women’s Championship was played at the Langley Events Centre from March 13 to 15, the first time the tournament had been held here, with eight teams and 11 games. Trinity Western was the host and also had its own team in it: the Spartans women were Canada West silver medallists and finished fourth in the nation.

The men did better still. Canada West’s own summary of last season says the Spartans won their first conference title since 2022, beating Manitoba in the final after a 17-3 regular season, and then took the national championship, their first since 2023. That makes them the reigning champions going into 2026-27.

This season’s home dates

The Canada West season began October 23 to 24 with Manitoba visiting Trinity Western, and runs to February 20. From the Spartans’ schedule pages, the rest of the regular-season home games at the Events Centre fall on these dates, for both the men’s and the women’s teams:

  • November 13 and 14
  • November 20
  • January 15 and 16
  • January 23
  • February 12 and 13

Canada West singles out the women’s January 21 and 23 home-and-home against the UBC Thunderbirds as one to watch (the Saturday match is in Langley). The women also travel to Alberta on November 6 and 7, a rematch of last year’s conference final against Alberta, who won the national title.

Playoffs start with a play-in round February 26 to 28 and quarter-finals March 5 to 7, followed by the Canada West Final Four on March 12 and 13. Venues for those rounds are set by Canada West, so check the Spartans’ schedule pages for anything in Langley.

Going to a game

Directions and parking are on the Langley Events Centre page. The Events Centre says parking is free; the main lot is entered from 80 Avenue. Tickets for Spartans games are sold through the Spartans site (the link above). We haven’t seen a price list on the schedule pages, so check there before you go.

For the university’s other teams (basketball, hockey, soccer and more), see the Spartans page. The other teams that call the building home are on our Events Centre teams page.

We haven’t yet confirmed official pages for Langley’s youth and club volleyball programs, so they aren’t listed here. If you run one, tell us and send the club’s own website.
