Phones come out before forks at Egg Bomb, and fair enough. The food is built to look like this: French toast stacked with smoked salmon and a dried orange slice, a croffle buried in fruit and cream, a sandwich so loaded with scrambled egg it comes in a holder.

Our order is the teriyaki beef sandwich, which gets a soft yolk on top, and a croffle in the middle of the table for everyone to pick at. The savoury plates with hollandaise are rich; one of those and you’re set until dinner.

The drinks are half the fun. The board runs long, from plain drip coffee to pistachio, sweet potato and lavender lattes, Sky and Forest lattes, fruit ades and matcha everything. They’re sweet and very pretty, and none of them have alcohol in them, so the whole table can play.

This is the original. The same team opened a flashier EggBomb+ in Burnaby in 2024, but the Langley café is the one in our neighbourhood, open seven days, closing at 5.

Go if brunch is an occasion in your house. Skip if you want plain eggs and toast in ten minutes; this is the other kind of breakfast. Weekend tables are booked by phone, weekday ones online a day ahead.
