Their number, 604-534-5555, is on the work trucks and on the door of a vintage red Chevrolet panel wagon the company shows off online. Gandy opened in 1957, so it has been answering that kind of call in Langley for three generations.
What they do
It began with forced-air furnaces and has grown into most of what keeps a house comfortable:
- Heating: furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits and garage heaters
- Cooling: air conditioning installs, repairs and tune-ups
- Plumbing and electrical: water heaters (tankless too), panel upgrades, EV chargers and backup generators
- Air quality: duct cleaning, filtration and duct sealing
- One-offs: permanent outdoor lighting (they install the Gemstone system)
Lennox is the brand you’ll see most on their website, and they also list Generac generators and Quilt ductless systems. The company says its 60-plus licensed tradespeople are all on staff rather than subcontractors.
Where it came from
Charlie Gandy and a business partner, Atwell, started Atwell-Gandy Gas and Electric in 1957. When the partner retired in 1967, the name became Gandy Installations, and Charlie and his son Chuck added commercial and industrial work once both held their gas fitter licences. Along the way the company bought Kerrisdale Gas and Neufeld Heating, added plumbing, and brought electrical back, which it calls coming full circle. Chuck still oversees operations, and Charlie’s grandson Taylor is the CEO.
