A chimney sweep from Lindbjerg starts at $200 plus GST for a standard masonry fireplace, and $255 for a wood stove, an insert or a gas log set. There’s a $100 minimum visit charge in case the crew arrives and the chimney can’t be serviced; they say it isn’t added on top when the sweep goes ahead. (Prices from their site, October 31, 2026.)
What they do
- Repairs and rebuilds: crumbling mortar, leaking flashing, brick pulling away from the house, and full rebuilds
- Removals: a chimney taken out from the roofline or the ground, with the outside patched to match
- Sweeps: about an hour a visit, and they say 95% are done from inside, with a HEPA vacuum and a fresh drop sheet each time
- Siding wraps: weatherproof siding around a chimney, chosen to match the house
- WETT inspections: a Level 1 visual inspection report, the kind insurers and home buyers ask for
- Masonry: brick steps, pillars, and garden and yard walls
The family behind it
Henning Lindbjerg was born in Denmark and came to Canada in 1974 with a journeyman bricklaying ticket he’d earned with honours. After about four decades in the trade, including running site operations for another Lower Mainland chimney company, he started Lindbjerg Chimney & Masonry in 2012. In January 2022 he handed it to his son Daniel and son-in-law Charlie Northup, and he stays on as a consultant. Daniel has laid brick for more than 20 years and holds his Red Seal. Charlie, also a Red Seal tradesman, came over from HVAC and handles estimating and scheduling.
Before you call
Estimates are free and done on site, and the online estimate form takes up to four photos of your chimney, which helps. They work from Langley out to Chilliwack and as far as Vancouver and the North Shore. Their advice for a wood-burning fireplace is a sweep at least once a year, and if you burn heavily (50 fires or more) to ask about a second clean. Rain and freeze-thaw cycles wear on brick and mortar, so a leak near the chimney is worth a call sooner rather than later.
Phone 604-614-7516 or email [email protected], Monday to Friday. Their Langley page lists the neighbourhoods they cover, from Brookswood and Willowbrook to Fort Langley and Aldergrove. They’re accredited with the Better Business Bureau (since 2013) and say they’re fully insured.
