If you’ve got a dog, a cat, a few hens or a horse, Milner Feed probably has what you need, and it’s in one of the best-looking buildings in Langley. The store fills a timber-framed barn the business dates to around 1906, red roof and all.
What they carry
- Hay and bedding for horses, rabbits and poultry: timothy, alfalfa and hay grown in Langley fields
- Feed for poultry and livestock, horse supplements, and straight corn, oats and wheat
- Dog and cat food, including Acana, Canadian Naturals and Go!, plus treats, toys, collars and leads
- Barn and coop gear: shovels, forks, feeders, coop supplies and fencing
The treat buckets alone are worth the stop if you have a dog. Pets are welcome inside.
The shop
Milner Feed opened on April 11, 2011, and it’s family-owned and run. From the start, it says, it has bought hay from Langley fields and stocked local or Canadian goods where it can. The covered loading area means you can drive through and have bales or grain loaded without standing in the rain. The BC General Aviation Association also lists the store among its in-kind supporters.
Before you go
It’s open Monday to Saturday 9 to 5:30, and Sundays and holidays 10 to 4. Holiday hours can change, so check their site before a long weekend. Call 604-533-2100 to ask about stock.
