If you’re a young person in Langley who needs a meal, a shower, a place to do laundry, or someone to help you find housing or a job, this is the door to knock on. The Langley Youth Hub offers free services, including outreach, help finding your way through services, and programs, out of the Langley Youth Resource Centre on 203 Street.

What’s there

Basic needs: food, showers, laundry and toiletries.

Outreach: street outreach and school outreach workers who come to young people rather than waiting for them to walk in.

Housing and jobs: housing outreach for ages 12 to 24, and employment support.

Foundry Langley, around the corner

Foundry Langley is a separate centre at 20616 Eastleigh Crescent, also run by Encompass. It offers free, confidential mental health, substance-use, peer and social support for ages 12 to 24, with drop-in hours Monday to Wednesday, 2 to 7 pm. Phone 604-546-2700. The Hub’s Friends of Dorothy drop-in for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth has moved there.

How it came together

The Hub grew out of a coalition of youth-serving organisations formed in 2014. Partners include the Langley School District, Langley Community Services Society, Stepping Stone and the Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Services Society. The Youth Resource Centre itself was developed with Marcon and funded by the Township, BC Housing, the Rotary Clubs of Langley, the Langley School District Foundation and private donors.

If it’s urgent
