Walnut Grove vs W.C. Blair vs Aldergrove: which Township pool for which kid?

Rule to know
Kids under 7 must have an adult within arm's reach, in and out of the water.

Same $15 family rate at all three, so the only question is which pool fits your kids. Here’s the short version.

Walnut Grove: the big one

Fifty-metre pool, dive tower, a leisure pool with a gentle beach-style entry, and the 300-foot waterslide that every kid in Langley seems to know about. The slide has a height minimum and goes one rider at a time, so expect a line on a Saturday afternoon. The family change room is roomy. The lot fills at peak times.

W.C. Blair: the toddler pick

The wave pool is the draw, but for small kids it’s the shallow spray lagoon with the rain tree and the tipping bucket that earns the trip. Parents consistently call it the warmest of the three, and the renovation added non-slip flooring. Lap swimmers should know only a couple of lanes may be open during family swims.

Aldergrove: the quiet Saturday

In winter the outdoor waterpark is closed, so you’re down to the 25-metre pool, a warm leisure pool with a ramp, and a hot tub. Less to do, but it’s where you go when the other two are packed — and in summer it becomes the best of the three, with slides, a lazy river and a wave pool outside.

Our read

Toddlers: Blair. Big kids who want the slide: Walnut Grove. A calm swim with a hot tub at the end: Aldergrove. One family pass covers the lot, so there’s no wrong answer at $15. The Township also knocks 50% off child and youth drop-ins on Pro-D days and school breaks.

We’ll do all three on consecutive Saturdays at the same hour and score them. This page gets the numbers when we have them.
