If you live in Walnut Grove, you probably already have a favourite corner of this building. It is one of the Township of Langley’s five recreation and community centres, and it packs a lot in: pools, a fitness centre, a gym, a library branch and a preschool.
What’s inside
The Township’s page lists these:
- The pool. A 50 metre pool, a 300 foot waterslide, 1 and 3 metre diving boards and a 5 metre dive tower, plus a leisure pool, a sauna, a steam room, and adult and family whirlpools.
- A fitness centre and a gymnasium. Drop-in schedules for fitness classes, aquatic fitness and gym sports are posted on the Township site.
- A library. The Walnut Grove branch of the Fraser Valley Regional Library is in the building. The library’s own location list shows it at the same address, under the name Dean Drysdale Library. See our libraries page for the rest of the branches.
- A licensed preschool, called Curiosity Grove.
- Quarter lockers. The page says Canadian quarters only, so keep a few handy.
- A café and a swimwear shop. The page lists Second Wave, a fresh-food café, and SeaSide Swim & Sport as tenants, and Softball BC as a leased office.
Accessibility
The Township lists a portable aquatic lift for the main pool and the adult hot tub, water wheelchairs, ramp access to the therapy pool, beach-style entry to the leisure pool, change rooms with handheld shower heads, and an adult change table in the gym change room.
Drop-in fees
The Township publishes one admission table for its facilities. As posted, effective September 1, 2026, taxes included: children 4 to 12 are $3.70, youth 13 to 18 are $4.70, adults 19 to 59 are $7.50, and seniors 60 to 69 are $3.60. Under-4s are free, and there are student, super-senior (70+) and family rates too. Always check the admission fees page for the current numbers, since prices change.
Planning a visit
Pool times change by day and season, so use the Township’s pool schedule rather than guessing from the building hours. The same goes for the fitness and activity drop-ins. There are also rooms and the gym to book for parties and meetings through the Township’s facility rentals page, and registered programs go through the Township’s recreation registration page.
If you are weighing up where to swim, the Township’s other pools are at Aldergrove and W.C. Blair. For the City’s facilities, see Timms Community Centre. For what is on around town, check events.
