Al Anderson Memorial Pool is the City of Langley’s outdoor pool, set in City Park. It is a classic summer-town pool: a 25 metre, 8 lane tank, with a slide and a diving board. It is outdoors, so it only runs for part of the year.
What the City says about it
- It is 25 metres long with 8 lanes.
- There is no beach-style entry, and the shallow end starts at 4 feet deep.
- There is a slide, a diving board and a family washroom.
- Programs include swimming lessons, aquatic fitness and length swimming.
The season
The City’s page currently says the pool is closed for the season and will open again on April 18, 2027. That date is for next year and could change, so check the page before you plan around it.
This spring the City opened the pool earlier than usual. A City release said the pool would open April 13, 2026, about a month earlier than normal, with spring lessons and registration starting earlier, and that it would be heated and open seven days a week from that date. The release lists public swims, evening swims, Friday Youth Nights, lessons for all ages, aquafit and lane swim times. We do not know yet if the 2027 season will follow that pattern, so keep an eye on the City.
Hours and prices
The pool page links to the City’s facility hours and to its fees page rather than listing numbers, so we do not either. The City’s posted single-session rates are on the fees and admissions page. The page does not state a separate pool price.
Lessons and registration
The City’s release said families can update recreation account prerequisites ahead of registration, in person at Timms Community Centre or by email. Our Timms page has the contact details. For indoor pools, the Township of Langley runs bigger ones at Walnut Grove, W.C. Blair and Aldergrove.
