If you make cards or keep scrapbooks, this is the shop the big craft chains can’t replace. Clipper Street stocks the specialist end of papercraft: patterned paper collections, metal cutting dies and the machines to use them, and mixed-media supplies. That includes Graphic 45, Hunkydory, Spellbinders and 3Quarter Designs, which lists the shop as a stockist.

Odd hours, for a good reason

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the doors close at 1:30 pm. That’s because at 2 the team goes live online with a craft-along called Together at 2 and then packs orders. Tuesdays and Thursdays run until 5, and Saturdays until 4. They’re closed Sundays and holidays.

Kits and classes

Owner Deanna Hutchison designs many of the shop’s card-class kits herself, and the finished cards in those kits are elaborate, with layered die-cuts and mirror-card trims. Classes run online, and you either collect the kit at the shop or get it shipped. Recent kits sold for about $41 to $58 including tax. Free Crafty Hour tutorials are saved on their YouTube channel, so you can try a technique before buying the dies.
