If your house runs on a well, a water softener or an under-sink reverse-osmosis system, sooner or later something needs replacing, and most big-box stores carry two filters and a shrug. EDS Pumps & Water Treatment is the shop that has the rest. It’s a Langley business that started in 1960 with well pumps, added water treatment in 2005, and keeps a walk-in retail counter on Fraser Highway just west of 232 Street.
What’s on the shelves
The counter is set up for homeowners, trades and small businesses doing their own maintenance:
- Replacement filter cartridges and housings for whole-house and drinking-water systems
- Reverse-osmosis membranes and the small parts that go with them
- UV lamps and quartz sleeves
- Softener salt, cleaners and treatment media
- Pump-system parts: pressure switches, valves and fittings
The full range is in their online catalogue, though prices there are by enquiry. The easiest way to get the right part is to bring the old filter in, or a photo of the label on your system.
Who runs it
Glen Johnston is one of the current owners. The business changed hands in 2025 and carries on with both the shop and a field-service crew that does installs, repairs and emergency well calls. The 24-hour emergency line is for service only; the shop itself keeps weekday hours.
Along the way, EDS was a partner in a UV water-purification project with UBC and Acuva Technologies that won a BCIC Ignite Award in 2018.
