Avatar: The Last Airbender in Langley

Two scenes in Netflix's live-action Avatar were shot on Langley farms: the cave outside Omashu on MacInnes Farms, and the whole town of Senlin, built on a former equestrian centre near Aldergrove.

Netflix’s live-action Avatar is the story of Aang, the last of the Air Nomads, trying to stop the Fire Nation’s war, with a cast that included Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Daniel Dae Kim. Most of season one came out of studios and locations around the Lower Mainland, including Burnaby, Maple Ridge and Surrey. Langley got two scenes, and they’re easy to spot once you know.

Which scenes were filmed in Langley?

The cave outside Omashu (episode 3). When Aang and Teo explore a cavern near the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu, they’re on MacInnes Farms, the North Langley farm that’s also home to the Jamestown western-town set and Locality Brewing. Netflix’s location site calls it part of a real cave system. The farm itself describes a purpose-built cave and mine set, and Locality lists Avatar among the productions that used its “Brewery & Mine-Set Cave” zone, where an artificial mountain and mine entrance are built onto the back of the brewery.

The town of Senlin (episode 5). The village Zuko and Iroh walk through while hunting for word of Aang wasn’t found; it was built. The production put up the whole town at The Farm on 264, a 24-acre former equestrian centre that now works as an outdoor film studio. Netflix says it sits beside Jackman Wetlands and is a short drive from Aldergrove Regional Park; the Langley Advance Times notes it’s close to the U.S. border.

Can I see either spot?

Not the sets themselves. Both properties are private, working film locations, and a built town like Senlin doesn’t stay standing after a shoot. Here’s what you can do:

  • Have lunch on the farm. Locality Brewing is open to the public, with food trucks and picnic tables among the hops. The mine set is part of the same farm, but it’s not a public area, so don’t go looking behind the building.
  • Walk the neighbourhood around The Farm on 264. Netflix’s own location page suggests Aldergrove Regional Park nearby and Aldergrove’s restaurants to the north; our Aldergrove guide has the rest.

Is Langley in season two?

Not as far as we can tell. When Netflix’s location site added season two, its B.C. list (as reported in June 2026) named Vancouver, North Vancouver, Surrey and Squamish. If that changes, we’ll update this page.
