Here’s a party trick for the next time you have visitors. Stand on Glover Road in Fort Langley and point at the yellow hall with the white columns. That one building has been Storybrooke Town Hall, Riverdale’s town hall, a White Pine Bay festival ground and a place where the Winchesters parked the Impala. The CN station a block away was in Timeless. The fort itself played a French fort in 1754.
The Township calls itself “Hollywood North,” and the numbers back it up. In 2019 the Langley Advance Times reported more than 1,700 film days and 135 productions in the Township in 2018, with more than a thousand film days every year since 2014. Part of the reason is money: the paper explained that productions get a bigger provincial tax credit when they shoot east of 200 Street, so crews like to work just past that line. The rest is variety. In twenty minutes you can go from a heritage village to a western town to open farmland that passes for Montana, Oregon or northern California.
What follows is every series we could trace to a specific Langley place through a source we trust: the productions themselves, Netflix’s own film-tourism site, the farm that hosts Jamestown, the Langley Advance Times, and Hollywood North Buzz (the long-running YVRShoots filming tracker). Where all we could confirm is “it filmed here,” we say so and stop.

The quick guide to everything else
Shorter stories, but real ones. Each line names the Langley place and where we found it.
Fort Langley village
-
Arrow (The CW). The Langley Advance Times listed it among the shows that filmed in Fort Langley. We couldn’t pin down which scenes or which street, so that’s all we’ll say.
-
Big Sky (ABC). Fort Langley played Helena, Montana in the first season, filmed in October 2020; Hollywood North Buzz reported it on the episode’s air date that December.
-
Cedar Cove (Hallmark). For the two-part first-season finale, crews covered Fort Langley in Christmas decorations in the middle of July. A season-two return to the village was expected in spring 2014.
-
Fire Country (CBS). When the series started filming in July 2022, Hollywood North Buzz listed Fort Langley, along with Anmore, as the fire-country town of Edgewater. The farm behind Jamestown lists it at its brewery and mine-set cave too, and a big season-three episode shot part of its action on a farm in Aldergrove in October 2024.
-
Dead Boy Detectives (Netflix). In episode 8, downtown Fort Langley stands in for Port Townsend, Washington, according to Netflix’s own location guide.
-
Resident Alien (Syfy). Ladysmith on Vancouver Island was the show’s main street in Patience, Colorado, but Fort Langley filled in as the town too. A season-three scene has Harry, in full alien form, walking through the village with Max.
-
Timeless (NBC). Two separate Langley turns. The 1915 CN station on Mavis Avenue was used in episode 2 of the first season, and the Wikimedia Commons photo at the top of this page, of the caboose and coach parked beside it, is captioned with exactly that. Later that season, in an episode that aired November 21, 2016, the time travellers chase Flynn to 1754 and the start of the French and Indian War, and the palisade at Fort Langley National Historic Site plays the French Fort Duquesne. The farm behind Jamestown lists Timeless on its set and in its fields as well.
The Jamestown set and MacInnes Farms
Jamestown is a western main street on a working farm off 248 Street in north Langley. The farm, which also runs Locality Brewing, publishes its own list of productions and splits it by part of the property. Our Jamestown page has the story of how a farm ended up with a frontier town.
- On the Jamestown set: When Calls the Heart, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Once Upon a Time, Timeless, Riverdale, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Monster High and The Good Doctor, plus Hallmark and other TV movies.
- At the brewery and its fake mine-set cave: When Calls the Heart, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Fire Country, Van Helsing, Riverdale, Wild Cards and Monster High.
- In the orchard, fields and lagoon: When Calls the Heart, Timeless, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Wild Cards.
Netflix’s location guide adds one more: in the 2026 film Voicemails for Isabelle, the outdoor beer garden where Wes gets advice from friends is Locality Brewing. (It’s a movie, not a series, but it’s the same farm.)
For Legends of Tomorrow, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Monster High, The Good Doctor, Van Helsing and Wild Cards, the farm’s list is the only source we found that ties them to Langley, so we can’t tell you the episodes.
Farms, acreages and back roads
- Devil in Ohio (Netflix). Netflix’s location guide puts the Windermere Farms house on the Telegraph Trail, the 1865 telegraph route, and the episode-2 department store at the Otter Co-op. Full details are on our Devil in Ohio page.
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Disney+). The series built its Camp Half-Blood set, archery range and all, on about 20 acres of private forest and field in south Aldergrove, Hollywood North Buzz reported in 2022 and 2023.
- Smallville and the 2018 Arrowverse crossover. The Kent Farm set is on 248 Street in Langley. In the 2018 crossover of The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl, Supergirl and Superman meet at the same farm.
- Supergirl (The CW). Fairmeade Farm in Langley was dressed as Camp David for a season-four episode in August 2018.
- Tracker (CBS). A season-two episode in July 2024 started at Martini Studios in Langley, then moved to private farmland near 8 Avenue and 235 Street.
Aldergrove barns and Langley City streets
- Arctic Air and Strange Empire (CBC). Arctic Air turned an Aldergrove barn into a sound stage with a DC-3 fuselage and a bar set. When the CBC ended it after three seasons, the 1860s western Strange Empire moved into the same barn in 2014 and swapped in frontier-town sets.
- The Haunting Hour (Hub). The Township’s own “Hollywood North” blurb names this kids’ anthology alongside Bates Motel and Arctic Air as series made in the community. It doesn’t say where.
- Ties That Bind (UP, 2015). Langley and other Fraser Valley towns played suburban Seattle for this ten-episode police family drama.
Studios: where the indoor scenes happen
A lot of “Langley” TV never sees daylight. Riverdale built its Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe set at a north Langley studio in 2016, and that’s where much of the show’s indoor action was shot. The Advance Times reported in 2019 that Netflix had signed a five-year deal for Martini Studios in northwest Langley, and Tracker worked there in 2024. Studios are closed to the public, so we haven’t listed them as places to visit.
How filming works here, and how to be a good neighbour
- Who issues permits. In the Township, production companies apply through a regional online portal and the Township’s film office ([email protected]). In Langley City, filming goes through engineering ([email protected]). Those are the contacts the Advance Times published in 2019; if you’re a resident with a question or a concern about a shoot on your street, start there.
- Farmland has its own rules. The paper also explained that the Agricultural Land Commission treats filming on ALR land as an event, which limits how many days a farm can host a shoot each year. The MacInnes family, for its part, says film work is scheduled around planting and harvest.
- Watching a shoot. Public sidewalks are fine. Stay out of the shot when the crew asks, don’t follow actors to their trailers, and don’t wander onto farms or film sets. Many of the “locations” on this page are private homes or working farms.
- Seeing the places. Fort Langley is the easy win: the Community Hall, Glover Road, the CN station and the fort are all a short walk apart. Jamestown is private, but the farm’s Locality Brewing is open to the public, and the set opens up once a year for Gone Country.
