Langley charities and their big fundraisers

A neighbourly guide to Langley charities, what each one does, how to help, and the annual events and galas they list on their own sites.

Langley has a lot of charities, and most of them hold at least one big event a year. This page is a short tour. For each we say what they do, point you to their own site, and mention any events or galas the site lists. Dates change every year, so treat the links as the final word. We only note dates the sites publish, and where a site lists none, we say so.

Langley Community Health & Hospital Foundation

Raises money for equipment and programs at Langley Memorial Hospital and wellness programs around town. Its events page lists the Giving Hearts Gala (at Mirage Banquet Hall, with details still to come when we looked), a Future of Mammography reception and a community events page. See our full page or visit lchhfoundation.com.

Langley Hospice Society

Offers palliative care and grief support for adults, teens and children. Its events page listed a Glass Half Full fundraiser on October 23, 2026, at The Hangar at Harrison Pointe, along with its regular grief-support groups. Read our Hospice page or go to langleyhospice.ca.

Langley Food Bank

A non-profit that serves residents of Langley City and the Township. Groceries go out Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the main Langley location and on Tuesdays in Aldergrove, according to its site. You can give by cash, cheque, food or online, and there is a volunteer page. The home page and donate page don’t name any annual events or dates. Phone 604-533-0671 or see langleyfoodbank.com.

Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS)

Runs animal control and sheltering for the City and the Township, plus adoptions, fostering and community programs such as a pet food bank and spay and neuter vouchers. Its site lists Drag Bingo 2026 and Kennel Breakout 2026 as events, though no dates showed when we checked. Its address is on 56 Avenue (see the site). Visit lapsbc.ca.

Langley Gateway of Hope

A Salvation Army centre serving Langley and Aldergrove with shelter, a lunch meal centre, material help, and programs such as school supplies. Its site lists the Christmas Kettle Campaign, a Coldest Night of the Year walk (February 28, 2026, a 2 km or 5 km family walk) and the 20th Annual Tournament of Hope golf fundraiser (August 20, 2026). Visit gatewayofhope.ca.

Encompass Support Services Society

A Langley non-profit focused on children, youth and families, with programs ranging from family mediation and counselling to a family resource centre and a childcare centre. Its site lists no annual events, but the Langley Advance Times reported that its first fundraiser was a Christmas market and food truck festival at George Preston Recreation Centre. Phone 604-534-2171, or see encompass-supports.com.

Ishtar Women’s Resource Society

Supports women and their children affected by abuse, with transition housing, counselling and outreach. In an emergency, call 9-1-1; its transition house lines are 604-530-9442 and 604-857-5797. Its site describes community fundraisers, such as a Rotary International Women’s Day luncheon and a Candy Cane Run, rather than a single named gala. Donate at ishtarsociety.org.

Langley Community Services Society

Has been serving the Langleys since 1971 with child and family services, counselling, settlement help for newcomers, substance use support and more. The home page doesn’t list annual events or fundraisers, though it has a donations page and a workshops listing. Phone 604 534 7921, or see lcss.ca.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley

Matches young people with mentors, from as little as an hour a week. Its site names a Charity Shopping Night, the 75 Doors Campaign and a Holiday Hamper Program, with dates on its events calendar. Phone 604-530-5055 or see the Langley site.

Langley Lodge

A non-profit long-term care home for seniors, run by the Langley Care Society, with community support for isolated seniors. Its site lists the A Brighter Tomorrow Gala (Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Coast Langley Hotel & Convention Centre) and, in 2024, a butterfly release with the Langley Hospice Society and a 50th anniversary gala. Look to langleylodge.org for the next one.

Langley Christmas Bureau

Run by about 100 volunteers each year, it helps Langley City families through the holidays. Its site has a hamper application, ways to donate toys or money, and a volunteer page. The Children’s Wish Breakfast was listed for Wednesday, November 25, from 6:30 to 9:30 am at Newlands Golf and Country Club (bring a new, unwrapped toy). Phone 604-530-3001, or see langleychristmasbureau.com.
