Langley Golf Centre is Langley’s par 3 course. Every hole is par 3 length, from 94 to 183 yards, wrapped around a driving range in the middle. It’s a good place to learn, to sharpen your irons, or to get 18 holes in around three hours, which is the pace the centre asks for.

The course

The scorecard adds up to 2,220 yards over 18 holes, with four ponds in play and a two-tiered green on 16. Yardages are measured from the stone markers to the centre of the green. Children 5 and under play free with a paying adult, which is handy if you’re bringing the family.

Booking and policies

  • Book online through Tee-On. From March 1 to October 31 the centre strongly recommends it; from November to February you can drop in, though it’s worth calling about frost delays.
  • A credit card holds your time but is only charged if you don’t show. You pay at the course.
  • Change or cancel online up to 12 hours ahead; after that, call the pro shop (voicemail doesn’t count). Missing players are charged 35% of the green fee, and a whole group that doesn’t show pays in full.
  • Arrive 30 minutes early and be on the first tee 10 minutes before your time.
  • Dress: clean, neat golf clothes with nothing offensive printed on them. Soft-spike golf shoes or athletic shoes; no cowboy boots, heels or metal spikes.
  • No refunds or rain checks unless management closes the course. No outside alcohol.

Practice and lessons

The driving range is new, with Toptracer in every bay on both levels. Bays must be reserved on the Sweetspot booking page or app. Lower-level bookings are 30 minutes with 40 balls and up to three golfers; upper-level bookings are an hour with 90 balls and up to six, set up for games and virtual rounds. You can cancel or reschedule up to 12 hours ahead. Range hours are 8 am to 9 pm. Bay prices are shown when you book. There’s also a practice chipping area, and lessons are offered through Play First Golf.

After your round

The licensed bistro looks out over the course, and there are grab-and-go items at the turn. The centre also hosts tournaments.
