Skye Hair Salon

Skye Hair Salon is the one with the long wall of oval, brass-framed mirrors. Tan leather chairs run down one side, a pale fluted reception desk sits in the middle, and at the back an arched, softly lit alcove holds shelves of Kérastase haircare. It’s the salon’s Willoughby home. Skye started out in downtown Langley.

Who’s behind it

Susan founded Skye and is still its master stylist, with more than 20 years behind the chair. Her specialty is advanced colour: colour correction and blonding. The BC Registry shows the business registered as a sole proprietorship in April 2014, which lines up with the “over 10 years” the salon gives for itself. Around her is a team that includes junior stylists who lean into colour and blonding, an extensions specialist and a head-spa provider. We’re only using Susan’s first name because that’s all the salon publishes.

Tuesday to Friday they’re open 10 to 8; Saturday, Sunday and Monday it’s 10 to 6. Book through the button on their website, or call 604-530-1030. The salon is in a newly built commercial building at Willoughby Town Centre, with three hours of free parking directly in front and underground parking as well.

A heads-up: some directories, including the Chamber’s, still show an older Fraser Highway address. Use the Willoughby one.
