The Advance Times reported that 34,029 ballots were cast in 2026, which is 31.55 percent of 107,869 registered voters. In 2022 the figures were 25,936 ballots and about 27 percent.

Are these results official?

On election night the Township said results are not official until its Chief Election Officer certifies them. Its results page now says all results have been tabulated and certified. The table of vote counts for every candidate sits on that page, so use it if you want exact numbers for any race.

When does the new council start?

Under the BC Community Charter, each person elected has to take an oath of office before taking their seat, and a council must hold its first regular meeting within the first ten days of November after a general election. The Township’s council calendar lists the Inaugural Council Meeting on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in the Fraser River Presentation Theatre. After that, the calendar lists council meetings on November 16 and 30 and December 14, 2026. See what happens at the first meetings for more.
