Finding child care in Langley is a bit like finding a parking spot at the mall on a December Saturday: it helps to start early and look in more than one place. This page lists the official starting points. We have not rated or reviewed any individual centre.
Start with the licensed map
Fraser Health licenses and inspects child care in this region. Its page says licensed facilities look after children from birth to age 12, with program types that include group care, in-home care, child-minding and occasional care. It also describes how inspections and complaints work.
To search, use the provincial Child Care BC finder. The Province’s page says you can filter by city, distance from home, program type, hours and extras such as meals or additional languages. It also warns that some options will not show up on that map, including $10 a Day ChildCareBC centres, so check those separately through the “find a $10 a Day centre” option on the same page.
Help with the cost
The Province’s page describes two kinds of help. The Affordable Child Care Benefit is a monthly payment toward licensed care, and families apply separately. The page gives an eligibility figure of pre-tax income “up to $111,000”. At $10 a Day centres, the Province says families pay no more than $200 a month per child, and families do not apply; the provider joins the program. The Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative applies automatically through enrolled providers.
Free referral help
The City’s child care page points to the Child Care Resource & Referral program run by Langley Community Services Society. The City describes it as free consultation, referrals and help with benefit applications for parents. See our page on the Langley Community Services Society.
Preschools run by the Township
The Township’s licensed preschool page covers the 2026/2027 year. Curiosity Grove runs at Walnut Grove Community Centre and Little Wise Ones at W.C. Blair Recreation Centre. As listed there, the 3-year-old program meets Tuesday and Thursday, 9am to 1pm, at an average monthly fee of $247, and the 4-year-old program meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 1pm, at $336. The fees exclude a $50 non-refundable registration deposit. Children must be fully toilet trained by the first day.
Registration is first come, first served, and waitlists are available. The page lists several ways to register, including in person at four Township recreation centres, by phone or online, followed by forms emailed to [email protected]. Its own text gives two different timings for opening new registrations, so read the page and confirm by email or phone. It also says the Affordable Child Care Benefit is available for licensed programs.
Programs in the City of Langley
The City’s page lists the Douglas Crescent YMCA Child Care and Kids Club, offering full-day care for infants, toddlers and children aged 3 to 5 plus before- and after-school care, and the Cookie Monster Licensed Preschool at the Douglas Recreation & Child Care Centre for ages 3 to 5. Details and applications are on that page.
Before you commit
Visit, ask questions, and ask to see the licence. The Province publishes a parents’ guide to choosing and monitoring care, linked from the City’s page. For schools after preschool, see our Langley School District page.
