Rick Green was mayor of the Township of Langley from 2008 to 2011. We could find only a limited amount of published biography, so this page covers his term and what he said about it later.
Background
We have not found a published account of Green’s career before politics that we can cite, so we leave it out.
In office
The Aldergrove Star reported in 2014 that Green described his time as mayor as difficult, with disagreements with the rest of council. It says that in 2009 he told council in a closed meeting about an anonymous letter and company records concerning a small Langley developer, Brownshak. According to the paper he later acknowledged he had known of the documents since August 2009, apologized at two closed meetings and was censured by council. It reports that the RCMP looked into a privacy matter and laid no charges, and that the allegations against the developer were found to be groundless.
How the term ended
Wikipedia’s article on Jack Froese says Froese won the 2011 election by defeating the incumbent, Green. The Aldergrove Star reported that Green filed to run again in the November 2014 election.
After office
Green’s 2014 comeback attempt is the only later public activity we have found. We do not list the 2014 result because we have not seen the official figures.
