Langley has had two councils since 1955, so it has two lists of mayors. This page gathers the names and years that Wikipedia’s lists give, and links to a profile for each person we could source. Years are shown as that list prints them, so a few have small gaps or overlaps. For the 2026 results, see the Township election page and the City election page.
Reeve or mayor?
Wikipedia’s list for the Township begins in 1967 and says that before then the Township’s heads were reeves, elected for one-year terms. Wikipedia’s Township article names James W. Mackie as the first elected warden when the Township was incorporated on April 26, 1873, and refers to George Brooks as reeve during the 1950s dispute over the City’s separation. We have not found a complete list of Township reeves from 1873 to 1966, so we do not print one. If you have a source, tell us.
The City of Langley, incorporated in 1955, lists mayors from the start.
