- Good to know
- They work with homeowners and builders, and coordinate quartz counters with the cabinets
Ask anyone who has redone a kitchen how long it took and you’ll get a sigh. Complete Cabinet Works answers the question with numbers in its FAQ, which makes it a decent place to start reading before you call anyone.
The timeline, as they lay it out
- Build: about 6 to 8 weeks for custom cabinets once the final decisions are made
- Demo: the old kitchen is disconnected and removed a week or two before install
- Install: most cabinet packages take 3 to 5 days
- Counters: measured after the cabinets are in, then usually 10 to 15 business days to arrive; quartz splashes are templated after that, so there’s a second wait
- Overall: for an average kitchen, they say to plan on four to six weeks without running water and a cooking setup
Their ballparks for budgeting: a mid-sized, well-equipped 10-by-10 kitchen cabinet package at $25,000 to $35,000, and quartz at $120 to $140 a square foot installed. Plywood cabinet cases run roughly 12 to 15 percent more than particleboard-core cases. Those figures come from their FAQ, so treat them as a starting point and ask for a quote.
What they build
The cabinets are frameless, manufactured in Canada, with cases in melamine (thermally fused laminate) or plywood. Drawer boxes can be dovetailed maple, birch or walnut, and the slides and hinges are soft-close. They also do door replacement and a few standard lines, and the surfaces page lists quartz from Vicostone, Silestone, Hanstone, Cambria and LX Hausys, grouped by cost.
Who you’ll deal with
Owner Steve Monk oversees installation and service. Interior designer Amber Mendonca leads design planning and client coordination, so the plan you settle on at the start is the one that reaches installation.
The showroom
It’s in Upper Suite 109 and open only by appointment. The kitchen in the hero photo is one of the showroom displays. A different one, in alder with a grey-brown Shale stain, is up for sale as a package on their Featured Display page, so you can buy a display kitchen instead of copying it. The project gallery on their site has more finished kitchens, vanities and built-ins to browse first.
