Every November 11, Langley stops for a moment, and then a lot of people gather in the same few places to do it together. There is not one big Langley ceremony; there are four or five local ones, each run by the people who live nearby. That means you can usually walk or drive a short way to the one that feels like yours.
Langley City: Douglas Park Cenotaph
The City’s ceremony is at the cenotaph in Douglas Park, 20550 Douglas Crescent. For 2026 the City lists it as 10:50 to 11:50am, hosted by Langley City Recreation, Culture & Community Services, and the public is invited. The City’s page for the 2025 ceremony describes a community gathering with a moment of silence for those who died serving and in recognition of those who still serve. It does not mention a parade.
Families, organizations and businesses can apply to lay a wreath. The City says applications for 2026 open on October 1 at 8am and close November 5 at 4pm, and that it replies within ten days. The City does not supply wreaths, so you buy one from a local Royal Canadian Legion branch or bring your own. For the Legion in Langley today, see our Royal Canadian Legion page.
Aldergrove
In 2025 the Township listed the Aldergrove ceremony at 10:40am at the Aldergrove Legion, 26607 Fraser Highway, run by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 265. The Township’s page says it includes a parade followed by the service. The Legion’s Facebook page is where the Township pointed people for updates.
Fort Langley
Fort Langley’s service is at the cenotaph in the northeast corner of the Fort Langley Cemetery, at Glover Road and St. Andrews Avenue. The organisers’ 2025 page says the ceremony started at about 10:30am, Glover Road closed at 10am, and the procession began on the west side of the cemetery with veterans, first responders and elected officials. The Township’s 2025 list gave 10:15am, so check the organisers’ site for the current start time. The ceremony is livestreamed on Facebook, and the organisers’ site links to a YouTube broadcast of the 2025 service. See the Fort Langley village guide for parking and getting around.
Murrayville
The Murrayville ceremony is at the Murrayville Cenotaph in the Murrayville Cemetery, 21405 44 Avenue. Its organising committee’s 2025 page gave a 10:20am start and a livestream link, and the committee can be reached at [email protected]. Start times have shifted a little from year to year (the Township’s earlier listing was 10:30am), so confirm before you go. Our Murrayville guide has the neighbourhood.
Tips for the day
- The Township’s page notes a pause at 11am on November 11 wherever you are.
- Arrive early; the small-village ceremonies draw crowds and some roads close.
- Dress warmly; these are outdoor services in November.
- Times above for Aldergrove, Fort Langley and Murrayville are the most recent we found, from 2025. We have not found a 2026 Township list yet.
For other November and December dates, see Langley’s annual events and our events page.
