Aura is a natural grocery with a smoothie bar inside. It’s where people in Yorkson go for organic produce and pantry staples, vegan and dairy-free swaps, and the supplements and natural personal-care brands that the big grocery stores don’t carry.
What’s on the shelves
- Groceries: organic produce and staples, a bigger-than-usual frozen section, vegan and dairy-free options
- Potato bread: flax loaves, burger and hot dog buns, and pizza crusts (a flax loaf was $10.99 when we checked)
- Wellness: vitamins, supplements, personal care and household cleaners
- Smoothies: the Langley store has the juice bar, with house blends like Dragon Fusion and Green Goddess
A note on the potato bread: it’s made with gluten-free ingredients but isn’t certified gluten-free. If you’re coeliac, ask before you buy. To get it fresh, order by Saturday noon for pickup after 5 pm on Tuesday.
Who runs it
It started in 1993 as Organic Grocer in Surrey. As the range grew past organic food, the owners renamed it Aura. The Willoughby store opened in 2023 with room for the smoothie bar and more freezers. It’s owned by two families, Kurt and Nina Astle and their friends Kristina and Rob Cavallari, and the Surrey shop is the only other location.
Before you go
They’re open 8 to 8 on weekdays and 9:30 to 7 on weekends, but smoothies stop at 5. The Langley line is 604-245-0361.
