BC Buzz Honey is a local success story you’ve probably already met on a grocery shelf. On weekends you can buy it at the source: a little cabin shop and Honey Hut on 248 Street, with every variety and size laid out side by side.
What’s on the shelves
- Clover and wildflower honey, from small jars up to bigger containers
- Creamed clover honey, the spreadable kind
- Raspberry-blossom honey, plus a creamed honey with natural blueberry flavour
- Bee pollen and honey gift sets, depending on stock
Some items are seasonal or sell out, so the online catalogue is a good place to check before you drive out for something particular.
From a garage to grocery stores
Chris Davies and Kris Friesen started with a few hives and a garage where they extracted and bottled the honey, and they sold it at Fraser Valley pop-up markets. In their telling, it was 2013. Grocery stores came next, then a first employee in 2015, and the bottling moved out of the garage into a proper facility and warehouse. The Honey Hut opened in June 2020, which finally gave the company a place where the public could walk in and buy. In 2017 the company made the top 10 semifinalists for Best Marketer at the Small Business BC Awards.
Before you go
The Honey Hut is open Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 to 4:30. The company keeps weekday hours too, but those are for wholesale, not walk-in shoppers. Email [email protected] with any questions.
It’s on the same stretch as Krause Berry Farms and Otter Co-op. See our 248 Street and Otter corridor page to plan a few stops together.
