Langley has a good spread of fields, from a 6,500-seat stadium to neighbourhood diamonds. This page collects what the two municipalities and the venues themselves say. Where a source doesn’t list a feature such as lights or washrooms, we haven’t added one, so check the park signs or ask the booking office.

Township of Langley

  • Willoughby Community Park: the Township lists it in the 7700 block of 202A Street, open dawn to dusk unless the grounds are booked or hosting an event. It is the park home of the Langley Events Centre and Willoughby Stadium. The Events Centre’s own site describes the stadium as an outdoor venue with room for more than 6,500 people, used for soccer and rugby, and Wikipedia’s article lists the stadium’s surface as artificial turf. Vancouver FC and Langley United play there.
  • McLeod Athletic Park: the home of the track and of McLeod Stadium. Athletics Canada reports that the track was resurfaced and the throws and jumps areas redone before the 2022 national championships there, with the Township investing well over a million dollars in the upgrades. A Langley Advance Times story adds that the synthetic turf field was being replaced at the time. The Langley Rams and the Langley Blaze in Langley Minor Baseball both use McLeod Stadium. See also our running tracks page.
  • Aldergrove Athletic Park: the home of Aldergrove Youth Soccer, behind Betty Gilbert Middle School.
  • Routley Park and Walnut Grove Community Park: both appear in the Township’s directory, Routley at 19901 70 Avenue and Walnut Grove at 89 Avenue and Walnut Grove Drive. The directory doesn’t list their field features.

Township: the parks page links to a sports field or park facility request form, a separate form for tournaments and special events, and an online rental availability page. Questions go to [email protected]. Events with 100 or more participants need a public spaces permit.

City: contact Facility Rentals at 604-514-2865 or [email protected], at 20399 Douglas Crescent. The City’s main line is 604-514-2800, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Closures and conditions

Both municipalities close fields for weather, standing water, frozen ground or repairs. The Township updates its field status report weekly. The City asks the home coach to inspect the field two hours before game time and recommends calling 604-514-2800 during business hours for current status. Both say teams playing on a closed field can lose their field rights for the rest of the season.
