What is The Mailroom? A shop on Mavis Avenue devoted to paper and pens, opened by Steph and Nicole in September 2022. Nicole saw room in the village for a shop devoted to paper goods, and they built it around brands that were hard to find anywhere nearby.

What do they sell? Nearly anything you’d write with or on:

  • fountain pens, bottled ink and everyday pens (a Stabilo fineliner is $4)
  • notebooks from Canadian and European makers, and Paper Republic refillable leather journals with inserts
  • planners, including Hemlock & Oak’s 2027 daily and weekly editions
  • greeting cards from independent artists (around $6), calligraphy and wax-seal supplies, and art materials
  • illustrated jigsaw puzzles
  • their own Mailroom line of notebooks, stationery sets, cards and desk accessories, including new metal clips this fall

Is it worth a trip just for this? If you’re a pen-and-notebook person, yes. It has a perfect 5.0 on Google from 32 reviews, and most of them mention the selection and how it’s laid out. Pens, ink, notebooks and planners are what people come back for.

When is it open? Every day, 11 to 5. You can also order from the online catalogue and pick up in the shop.

What about returns? Unused items in their original packaging can be exchanged or returned for store credit within 30 days with a receipt. Pens and greeting cards can’t be returned.

How do I reach them? Call 604-371-4401 or email [email protected]. It’s at 23293 Mavis Ave, a few steps off Glover Road. While you’re in the village, Emilia & Rose is good for gifts. The Fort Langley village guide covers parking and everything else.

Been here? Back them up.
