Petty Vengeance Anime & Gaming
An anime shop at Willoughby Town Centre with a wall painted like a manga page: manga on a buy-three-get-one deal, Nendoroid and Pop figures, custom apparel and hand-painted figure stands.

- Where
- Unit A180, 20689 Willoughby Town Centre Drive, in the shopping village around 208 Street and 80 Avenue
- Open
- Monday to Wednesday 11 to 6, Thursday and Friday 11 to 8, Saturday 11 to 5, Sunday 11 to 4. The mall's own listing says 10 am most days, so check before a special trip
- Good to know
- Manga is always buy three, get the fourth free. Closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday
The back wall is a manga page. Not a poster of one: it has been drawn panel by panel, floor to ceiling, in black ink, with a pink neon sign in the middle and a door labelled “Don’t open it.” If you know your shonen series you’ll spend a few minutes spotting characters before you reach a shelf.
Petty Vengeance is Willoughby’s anime shop. Its site says it was started by a family of anime fans from Langley who kept finding tiny anime shops on their travels around Europe and came home wanting one in their own town. The company was registered in early 2024, and the shop sits in the row of storefronts along Willoughby Town Centre Drive.
What’s on the shelves
- Manga. Current titles across the main genres, and the standing deal is the reason to come: every fourth volume is free when you buy three.
- Figures and collectibles. Boxed Nendoroids and Pop figures from series like Naruto, One Piece and Mob Psycho 100, plus racks of keychains, pins and art prints.
- Custom apparel. The shop’s own designs for anime and gaming fans, hoodies included, with the cherry-blossom cat skull that’s on the door.
- Figure stands. This is the thing you won’t find at a chain: hand-painted wooden risers in character colours and patterns borrowed from the big series (village symbols, checks and triangles, even a brick wall) so a shelf of figures looks like a display rather than a pile.
The “Gaming” in the name is about the characters, not consoles.
Who runs it
The shop describes itself as locally owned and run by a family of anime fans, and says its first priority is building a community for fans in the area, with the store kept a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Nobody is named on its site, so we’ll leave it there.
Before you go
- Hard Bean Brunch is a short walk away on the same drive, so a manga run pairs well with lunch.
- Late nights are Thursday and Friday, until 8.
- Petty’s Perks is the loyalty program. Sign up on the website for a code worth 10 percent off your next purchase (it only applies if you haven’t already joined in the shop).
- Shopping for a fan and lost? The site’s contact form takes product suggestions and, in their words, anyone who just needs someone to appreciate the same anime.
For cards, comics and tabletop games there’s Wiser’s Collectibles in Walnut Grove. The rest of the neighbourhood’s independents are in Shop Local in Willoughby, and our Willoughby guide covers what else is around.
