Start with the head count. A room that fits 50 can feel tight once you add a gift table and a cake. A 200-person hall swallows a 40-person meeting. Then work out the food: is there a kitchen, can you bring your own, or does the venue cater? Those two answers narrow Langley’s list fast.
Prices below are the ones posted online. Township rates are private-rental rates from its September 2025 schedule, which was still the one posted when we checked. Murrayville and South Fraser post prices without a date. Ask for a written quote for your date before you send invitations.
Small: meetings and parties under 30
Timms Community Centre, 20399 Douglas Crescent. Multipurpose Rooms 1 and 2 each hold up to 50, but the City suggests 30 if you’re bringing food, gifts, games or decorations. Private rentals are $42 an hour ($21 for non-profits). Outside food is fine; the kitchen and fridge aren’t part of the rental. You get in 15 minutes before your start time, and you’ll need $2 million in liability insurance naming the City. Underground parking has no time limit; the surface lot is three hours. Bookings 604-514-2865.
Township community centres. Walnut Grove’s smaller rooms (Rooms 3, 4 and 5 hold 18, 30 and 20) are $33.73 an hour on the posted schedule. W.C. Blair has five rooms holding 18 to 43, at $33.73 to $50.84 an hour depending on the room. The 60-person rooms at Walnut Grove and the Aldergrove Community Centre are $50.84.
Rotary Interpretive Centre at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum. A 40-person room for meetings only, $33.73 an hour. 604-532-7350.
Langley Arts Council Meeting and Flex Room, in the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre at 26770 29 Avenue. Seats 30, with a sink, small fridge, whiteboard, tables and chairs. Ask the council for current rates: 604-534-0781.
Coast Langley City Hotel, 20393 Fraser Highway. The Executive Boardroom fits 14 and the Bedford Room 30. Quotes only. 604-530-1500.
Throwing a kid’s birthday? The Township’s birthday packages are a separate thing from room rentals. They’re structured, include 15 minutes of setup, and don’t allow outside entertainment. If you want to hire a magician, rent a plain room instead.

South Fraser Hall, 20701 Fraser Highway. A $600 refundable damage deposit is due at booking, and the date is yours once the signed agreement and deposit are in. You can view it Mondays 4 to 6 pm. 778-900-8708.
Fort Langley Lions Seniors Hall, 23022 88 Avenue. Takes meetings, parties, weddings and events, and kitchen use is included. Its posted capacity and fees come from older contracts, so call for current ones: 778-233-9283.
Large: 150 and up
Fort Langley Community Hall, 9167 Glover Road, in the village. The ballroom in our photo seats 180 for a banquet or 200 concert-style, with a catering kitchen on the ground floor. You set up your own tables and chairs. Full-day bookings start at 8 am, and you’re out by 1 am on weekends or midnight on weeknights. Parking is behind the hall, with a municipal lot to the south. Rates are by quote, including for downstairs meetings or the whole building. 604-897-5155.

salishan Place by the River, 23430 Mavis Avenue. The banquet and conference space holds 168 to 200 depending on layout ($231.41 an hour on the Township’s September 2025 schedule), and the theatre seats 167 ($116.20). There’s no in-house catering. Final fees, insurance and permits are due 60 days out for the banquet hall or theatre (14 days for smaller rooms), and you’ll need $3 million in liability coverage. Bookings can run to 1:30 am, cleanup included, but the parkade locks at the end of business hours, so sort out guest parking when you book. 604-532-3536.
Coast Langley City Hotel. Up to 650 theatre-style in the Cascades Ballroom, with catering and event planners on staff, and free parking for convention guests. This is the one where someone else does the setup.
Thunderbird Show Park, 24550 72 Avenue. This winter, tbird is renting its Timberframe Lodge (up to 60 for cocktails) and Winter Pavilion (up to 200 for a banquet), with catering. We wrote it up in You can rent the timberframe lodge at tbird this winter. Quotes from [email protected] or 604-888-4585.
Before you book
- Ask what the quote leaves out: tax, cleaning, a damage deposit, a bartender, a liquor permit.
- Get your insurance sorted early. $2 million is common; salishan wants $3 million, and Willoughby wants $5 million if alcohol is served.
- Check who sets up and takes down. At Fort Langley Community Hall it’s you. At Coast, it’s them.
- Planning a fundraiser? Our charities and galas guide shows where Langley’s big nights happen.
