Community groups and service clubs in Langley: where to start

A map of Langley's volunteer groups, from Rotary and the Legion to cadets, choirs and the Men's Shed, with links to each page and a list of 2026 City grant recipients.

Langley does not have one list of its volunteer groups, and the two municipalities don’t keep one between them. The nearest thing to a record of who is active right now is the list of groups the City of Langley paid grants to this spring, which runs to 45 names. We’ve used it, and our own pages, to build this map. Find the sort of group you’re after, then follow the link.

If you want to give a few hours a month

Start with Volunteering in Langley, which collects the places that take volunteers. For a service club, there are four Rotary clubs (where each meets and when), the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Freemasons, Knights of Columbus and Odd Fellows. A hands-on option is Men’s Shed Langley, which the City funded in 2026.

If you want something for your kids

Scouts, Girl Guides, cadets, 4-H and the BGC Langley Club all have pages. For teens, Langley for teens and youth programs and drop-ins are the better starting points.

If you’re looking for a creative outlet

Singers go to Langley’s community choirs; there’s a camera club, a quilters’ guild, and the full arts directory for theatre, galleries and music.

If you want to help a cause

Our charities and big fundraisers page lists the established ones, and the animal rescue, hospice and seniors’ societies each have a page: LAPS, the hospice society and Langley Senior Resources Society. For a place of worship, there is our list.

Groups the City of Langley funded in 2026

The City’s community grant program announced 45 recipients on May 13, 2026, with awards from $500 up to $20,000 in the largest case. Receiving a grant tells us the group was active this year and serving City of Langley residents; it does not tell you whether it is taking members. Some of the ones we don’t otherwise cover:

  • Langley Field Naturalists
  • Langley Lawn Bowling Club
  • Langley Literacy Association
  • Langley Environmental Partners Society
  • Langley Fastball Association
  • Langley Flippers Swim Club
  • KidSport
  • Youth Parliament
  • Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society
  • Terry Fox Run, Langley City
  • Fraser Region Community Justice Initiatives
  • PLEA Community Services Society
  • VAYA Youth Arts Society
  • Langley School District Foundation

The grant list also includes dry grad committees for Brookswood, Langley Secondary and Langley Fine Arts School, parent advisory councils, and neighbourhood groups holding block parties. The Rotary Club of Langley’s RibFest received $5,000. The full table, with each award, is in the City’s announcement, and applications for next year’s round go through the City’s community grants page.

These are City of Langley grants, so the list leans toward groups serving the City. Many Township groups, in Willoughby, Brookswood, Murrayville, Fort Langley and Aldergrove, aren’t on it. The Greater Langley Chamber’s community and non-profit directory is another place to browse, though it lists Chamber members only.
