Health Care in Langley: Hospital, Urgent Care and Finding a Family Doctor

Langley Memorial Hospital's emergency department is open 24 hours at 22051 Fraser Highway. For non-emergencies, the Urgent and Primary Care Centre is open 9 am to 8 pm daily, and the way to a family doctor is the Health Connect Registry.

Health care in Langley is mostly provincial and regional, so the City and Township line does not matter here. What matters is knowing which door fits the problem: 911 or the hospital for emergencies, the urgent care centre for things that cannot wait but are not life-threatening, a pharmacist or the 811 line for quick questions, and the Health Connect Registry for the long-term answer, a family doctor.

Which door should I use?

Langley Memorial Hospital

The hospital is at 22051 Fraser Highway (604-514-6000) in Murrayville. Fraser Health’s directory lists a 24-hour emergency department and medical and surgical wards, maternity, diagnostic imaging and inpatient mental health care. A larger emergency department opened in May 2021, taking treatment spaces from 31 to 49, and an MRI opened in January 2021. Parking, visiting rules and the groups that support the hospital are on our hospital page. Expecting? See having a baby in Langley.

Some streets near the hospital have two-hour parking limits; read parking in Langley before you leave the car for a long visit.

The Urgent and Primary Care Centre

Fraser Health opened the permanent Langley Urgent and Primary Care Centre on May 13, 2025. It is at Suite 202, 20434 64 Avenue (604-514-7477), open 9 am to 8 pm every day, and triages patients by need. It offers same-day care for things such as sprains, cuts, high fevers and minor infections. Free parking is available, X-rays are walk-in with a referral, and CT scans need a referral and an appointment. Call or check the page for how access works that day. If an older listing shows a different address, trust Fraser Health.

It is not a replacement for a family doctor. Treat it as the place to go when you cannot wait.

Finding a family doctor

Step 1: register. Go to the Health Connect Registry on HealthLink BC, or call 811. You need your personal health number (it is on your BC Services Card) and your contact details. Register every member of the household. If you are new to BC, MSP coverage may take up to three months to start; see the newcomer checklist.

Step 2: keep your details current. The primary care network contacts people when a doctor or nurse practitioner has space. Missed calls and old emails are the most avoidable reason people lose their turn.

Step 3: get local help. The Langley Division of Family Practice says it connects people with family doctors and nurse practitioners in Langley; its office is at #209-20353 64 Avenue (604-510-5081). The Langley Primary Care Network serves the City and the Township, including Aldergrove, Brookswood, Fort Langley, Murrayville, Walnut Grove, Willoughby and Willowbrook.

Step 4: use the stopgaps. Urgent care, a walk-in clinic, a pharmacist and virtual care can handle individual problems. Walk-in visits are separate encounters: they do not attach you to a doctor. Our finding a doctor page keeps the current pointers.

There is no published Langley wait time. We could not find an official figure for how long unattached patients in Langley wait, and we are not going to guess. Register now, and use urgent care, a pharmacist and 811 for individual problems in the meantime.

Walk-in clinics, pharmacists and virtual care

Walk-in clinics. HealthLink BC’s directory for the Langley Primary Care Network lists the clinics currently offering walk-in care, and some offer in-person, phone or virtual visits on the same day. Hours change, and a clinic may stop accepting patients when it fills, so phone before you go. A walk-in visit is a one-off. It does not put you on a doctor’s roster, and the clinic may not have your records.

Pharmacists. BC pharmacists can assess and treat 21 minor ailments, including pink eye, allergies and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and the service is free to BC residents in person at the pharmacy. They can prescribe many types of contraception at no charge and renew some stable prescriptions. If you are waiting on a family doctor, this is the fastest route for the small things.

Virtual care. Fraser Health Virtual Care (1-800-314-0999) has nurses available from 10 am to 10 pm daily and dietitians from 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays. At other times, call 811.

Labs and imaging. Lab work is booked through Fraser Health’s laboratory service (1-888-442-5227), and the instructions on your requisition tell you whether you need an appointment. Limited walk-in access varies by site. The urgent care centre takes walk-in X-rays with a referral.

Seniors and long-term needs

Langley Senior Resources Society is a practical starting point for senior programs and volunteer opportunities; our seniors guide lists services by need. For end-of-life care, see Langley Hospice Society. A proposed 300-bed long-term care campus was announced in September 2024, but we could not confirm a funded construction start or opening date, so we do not list it as available.

Questions people ask about living in Langley

How do I find a family doctor in Langley?
Join the Health Connect Registry online, or call 811 for help. You provide your personal health number and contact details, and the Langley primary care network uses the registry to connect unattached patients when there is capacity. Keep your details current and respond when contacted. A reliable figure for the current Langley wait is not published, so plan on waiting and use urgent care in the meantime.
Where is the Langley urgent care centre and when is it open?
The Langley Urgent and Primary Care Centre is at Suite 202, 20434 64 Avenue (phone 604-514-7477). Fraser Health lists it as open 9 am to 8 pm every day. Visiting does not make you a long-term patient of the centre or secure you a family doctor.
Where is Langley Memorial Hospital?
At 22051 Fraser Highway, in Murrayville; the main number is 604-514-6000. The emergency department runs 24 hours. Can a pharmacist treat me instead of a doctor?
For some things, yes. HealthLink BC says BC pharmacists can assess and treat 21 minor ailments, such as pink eye, allergies and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, free for BC residents at the pharmacy. They can also prescribe many forms of contraception at no charge and renew some stable prescriptions. See HealthLink BC’s pharmacy page for limits.

Yes, but who is seeing patients on the day changes constantly. HealthLink BC’s directory lists current options for the Langley Primary Care Network area, and some clinics offer in-person, phone or virtual visits. Phone the clinic to confirm same-day acceptance. A walk-in visit does not attach you to a family doctor. See our finding a doctor page.
