Shopping, Health and Everyday Services in Aldergrove

Aldergrove’s errands string out along about two kilometres of Fraser Highway. Groceries and a pharmacy anchor each end, and the hardware store, doughnut shop and a handful of services sit between them near 272 Street. We checked each business’s own site or listing on 30 October 2026; hours change, so we’ve left them to the operators.

Groceries and everyday shopping

Which end of the strip you live near matters. Save-On-Foods to FreshCo is nearly 2 km, and the middle (around 272 Street) is a short walk from neither.

Local businesses worth knowing

These are locally based, confirmed on their own sites, and listed as facts rather than recommendations. For more, our Shop Local section lists Langley businesses.

• Aldergrove General Store, 27271 Fraser Highway. Household and kitchen goods, gifts and general-store items.
• The Hive Donut Hut, 27253 Fraser Highway. A local doughnut and café stop in the central storefront strip.
• Veronica’s Gourmet Perogies, 2989 272 Street. A family food business south of Fraser Highway.
• Bonetti Meats, 3986 248 Street. A family butcher on the rural west corridor.
• JD Farms Specialty Turkey, 24726 52 Avenue at 248 Street. A farm retail stop north-west of town.

Older development maps and brochures sometimes name cafés and restaurants that are gone, so check a business’s own site before you plan a visit around it.

Markets. The Aldergrove Community Market ran on 12 July 2026, 10:00 to 15:00, at 3147 272 Street. That’s a one-day event; we found no weekly year-round farmers’ market or confirmed 2027 schedule. For markets elsewhere, see Langley farmers’ markets.

Health: what’s in town and what’s a drive away

There is no hospital or urgent and primary care centre inside Aldergrove’s urban core. That’s a real consideration if you rely on the bus. See the Langley-wide health care guide for how to find a family doctor.

A clinic or pharmacy in town isn’t a promise of same-day care.

Library, post office, police and fire

• Library: Aldergrove Library, 26770 29 Avenue, 604-856-6415, part of Fraser Valley Regional Library. Hours and events are on the branch page. A new library is planned in the rental building at Fraser Highway and 272 Street; it isn’t open yet (see the town centre page).
• Post office: Aldergrove Station at 2936 272 Street, and a counter at Shoppers Drug Mart (700-26310 Fraser Highway). Use Canada Post’s live locator for cut-off times and holiday hours.
• Police: RCMP community policing office, 26970 Fraser Highway, 604-856-7386. See our safety guide.
• Fire: Fire Hall 3, 26316 30A Avenue.

Community groups and support

• Aldergrove Community Association and Aldergrove Business Association post local events and news on their websites.
• Encompass Family Place serves parents of young children at Shortreed Elementary, 27330 28 Avenue (604-856-1664).
• Langley Senior Resources Society runs an Aldergrove programme at Heritage Hall, 3015 273 Street. Its October to December 2026 listing includes Tuesday activities.

That’s a selection, not every congregation in town.

What you’ll drive elsewhere for

Larger shopping trips, hospital care and many specialists mean leaving the core. East, Highstreet in Abbotsford has a Walmart at 3122 Mt. Lehman Road, and BC Transit route 21 serves Highstreet Exchange. West, Langley has Willowbrook Shopping Centre and the hospital.
