Parks, Trails and the Community Centre in Aldergrove

Aldergrove has a sports-park cluster beside its schools, small neighbourhood parks, a big regional park to the south and a community centre with an arena and pool. The waterpark is closed for 2026 and returns in 2027.

The pieces line up neatly here. A sports-park cluster shares a block with two schools, small neighbourhood parks are scattered through the streets north and south of Fraser Highway, and one of Metro Vancouver’s regional parks starts a few kilometres south of the main corner.

The parks, one by one

The features below are what the Township’s park directory lists. If a washroom or playground isn’t listed, don’t assume it’s there. Check live field status before you travel.

Aldergrove Regional Park

Metro Vancouver’s park crosses the Township-Abbotsford line south of town: meadows, woodland, wetlands, trails and picnic facilities, accessible main day-use facilities and a designated off-leash area. Our Aldergrove Regional Park page has the full story. Three entrances matter:

  • Main day-use: off 8 Avenue, east of 272 Street.
  • Equestrian trailhead: 272 Street and 6 Avenue. Horse trailers must use it.
  • Eastern access: off Lefeuvre Road, for the Aldergrove Bowl.
Walk Length and character Start
Pepin Brook Trail 3.5 km, about an hour; rolling, a few steeper sections Main day-use area
Rock 'n Horse Trail 6.75 km on the live park page (an older brochure said 6.5 km); steep sections and sharp curves; shared with horses and bikes where signed Equestrian trailhead
Aldergrove Bowl viewpoint About 1 km return, 30 minutes, steep in places Lefeuvre Road access

The brochure we consulted dates from January 2023, so trust the current signs and the park’s live page for closures. Stay on public routes: the brochure marks rented and private areas as closed, and farms or creek land seen on a map aren’t an invitation to cross a fence.

The Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre

The community centre at 27032 Fraser Highway (604-857-4299, listed by the Township as Aldergrove Community Centre) combines an ice arena, fitness facilities, an indoor walking track, meeting rooms and swimming. The 25 m pool, leisure pool and hot tub are distinct from the seasonal waterpark, and the main pool is covered by a canopy rather than fully enclosed. Accessibility features listed include pool lifts, a water wheelchair, accessible changing facilities and a ramp into the leisure pool.

The Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience waterpark is closed for 2026 and the Township says to come back in 2027. The building itself is open for swimming, skating and fitness on its own schedules.

Admission from 1 Sept 2026 Price
Adult $7.50
Youth $4.70
Child $3.70
Age 60 to 69 $3.60
Age 70 and over $0.50
Family $15 (published family-size and adult limits apply)
Skate rental / helmet $3.50 / $1.25

Waterpark admission is separate, and some sessions carry their own fees, so check the session. Register at tol.ca/recregister. On busy days, use the overflow parking map from the facility page.

Clubs, sports and local events

Go to each club for age groups, boundaries, registration dates and waitlists. Beyond sport, Aldergrove’s best-known annual event is the Aldergrove Fair (the fair says it started in 1912; the 2026 fair was listed for 17 to 19 July), which has its own page. The Township’s community profile also lists a cruise-in, an artisan market and a Polar Bear Plunge among annual events; confirm dates with the organisers each year. The heritage side of town is covered by the telephone museum.

What’s planned

We haven’t found a newly funded, not-yet-open Aldergrove municipal park. The Township-owned Aldergrove Gateway site beside the community centre went to public engagement, with no approved plan yet; see the town centre page. For the rest of the community, read schools, shops and services or the Aldergrove overview.

Questions people ask about Aldergrove

Is there an indoor pool in Aldergrove?
Not a conventional fully enclosed one. The community centre’s 25 m pool, leisure pool and hot tub are under a canopy, and they’re separate from the seasonal waterpark with its slides, wave pool and river. Check the centre’s swimming schedule and register at tol.ca/recregister.
Are the Aldergrove water slides open in the fall?
No. The Township says the Outdoor Experience waterpark is closed for the 2026 season and is directing visitors to return in 2027. The arena, fitness area and pool run on their own schedules.
How much does it cost to swim or skate at the Aldergrove community centre?
Regular recreation admission from 1 September 2026 is $7.50 for adults, $4.70 for youth, $3.70 for children, $3.60 for ages 60 to 69 and $0.50 for 70 and over, with a $15 family rate (subject to the published family-size limits). Skate rentals are $3.50 and helmets $1.25. Waterpark admission is separate, and some programs have their own fees.
Where can I walk my dog off leash in Aldergrove?
Bertrand Creek Dog Park at 27516 28 Avenue is a designated off-leash area, and Aldergrove Regional Park has a designated off-leash area as well. Stay inside the signed boundaries: the rest of the regional park’s trails and the farm edges aren’t off leash.
Where is the main sports park?
Aldergrove Athletic Park, 26845 27 Avenue, beside Betty Gilbert Middle and Aldergrove Community Secondary. Its Township listing shows sports fields, a track, skate and bike facilities, a playground, tennis and pickleball, basketball, washrooms and picnic areas. Check bookings and closures for your activity.
Where do I park for Aldergrove Regional Park?
The main day-use entrance is off 8 Avenue, east of 272 Street, and the equestrian trailhead is at 272 Street and 6 Avenue. Horse trailers must use the designated equestrian trailhead. An eastern access for the Aldergrove Bowl is off Lefeuvre Road.
How do I sign up my child for hockey, baseball or soccer in Aldergrove?
Go to the club’s own site: Aldergrove Minor Hockey, Aldergrove Minor Baseball or Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club. They list age groups, registration dates and waitlists. Registration being open isn’t the same as a guaranteed spot.
