Yorkson has no train station, and it does not need one to be workable. It has two bus pictures that depend on the address: the 595 along 208 Street for local trips, and the 555 express from Carvolth Exchange, a short drive or bus ride west, for anyone heading to SkyTrain or downtown. Pick the home first, then test the trip.
Which buses serve Yorkson?
The table summarizes TransLink’s Surrey-area timetable effective September 7, 2026, which we read on October 30. Gaps are rounded descriptions of scheduled frequency, not live arrival times.
| Route | What it does for Yorkson | Weekday peak | Weekday daytime | Weekend daytime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 595 Langley Centre / Maple Meadows Station | Runs on 208 St through the town centre and connects with Carvolth | About every 30 min | About every 30 min | About every 30 min; later trips can be hourly |
| 555 Carvolth / Lougheed Town Centre Station | The direct freeway bus to SkyTrain. You board at Carvolth | Roughly every 8 to 12 min in the busiest periods | About every 20 min | About every 30 min |
| 501 Langley Centre / Surrey Central Station | Serves the Carvolth and 200 St side, not each Yorkson street | Roughly every 10 to 20 min | About every 30 min | Saturdays 15 to 20 min, Sundays 20 to 30 min |
The 555’s bus-only trip from Carvolth to Lougheed is scheduled at about 18 to 31 minutes. That is not a Yorkson-to-downtown time. Add the walk or feeder bus to Carvolth, the wait, and the SkyTrain ride. Our Transit in Langley overview lists the other routes in the area.
Carvolth Exchange and the park and ride
Carvolth Exchange is at 20255 86 Avenue, west of Yorkson’s boundary. TransLink lists 679 parking stalls, $2 a day or $40 a month, open 4 am to 2 am daily. Stalls are not guaranteed to be open, and TransLink’s page says overnight parking is not allowed. The Township was also working on 86 Avenue between 200 and 202B Streets in its latest update (February 2026), which can affect how you approach the exchange.
SkyTrain, now and later
Today the nearest stations by bus are Lougheed Town Centre (the 555) and Surrey Central (the 501). The Surrey Langley SkyTrain extension is under construction, with late 2029 as the anticipated opening in the latest provincial information. Its Willowbrook and Langley City Centre stations will be near 196 Street and 203 Street on Fraser Highway, outside Yorkson, so you will still need a bus or a drive to reach them. TransLink is also planning a bus rapid transit line from Langley to Haney Place, which is a planning-stage project and not a service you can ride yet.
What about commute times?
We have not found a timed, published sample for Yorkson door-to-door, so we won’t guess. Our Langley distance guide puts downtown Vancouver about 47 km and 50 minutes off-peak from Langley City by car. A rush-hour trip on Highway 1 is longer, and the real answer depends on your street. The best test is to start at 208 Street and 80 Avenue, then repeat from the actual home at the time you would travel, in both directions.
| Destination | What to test |
|---|---|
| Downtown Vancouver | 555 and SkyTrain versus driving, including the Carvolth leg and parking at the other end |
| Surrey Central | The 501 versus driving. The bus makes many stops |
| Abbotsford | Highway 1 eastbound at your departure time |
| Langley City centre | The 595 to Langley Centre versus the drive |
Driving and road work
Highway 1 is the north boundary, but 208 Street crosses it without an interchange. Drivers reach the freeway through the 200 Street or 216 Street interchanges, so compare both from a specific address. The Township’s recent road projects are changing how the main streets work:
| Project | Where it stands |
|---|---|
| 80 Avenue, 204 to 212 Streets | Finished July 2026, with multi-use and protected cycling facilities, crossing work and a new refuge at 207 Street |
| 208 Street phase 3 (76 Avenue to the 8100 block) | Road work complete August 2026, with landscaping expected this autumn |
| 208 Street phase 4 (8100 block to 84 Avenue) | August 2026 update confirmed median and utility work. Don’t read that as everything being done |
| 86 Avenue, 200 to 202B Streets | Latest update February 2026, construction in progress |
| 212 Connector school access | In the Township’s 2026 capital program, so watch for work near the new campus |
For live closures check the Township’s traffic impacts page and our road closures page. The school district lists drop-off and pick-up traffic as a concern, and we found no published peak-hour delay figures for 208/80 or Highway 1 queues, so we won’t quote any.
Walking and cycling
These distances are our own street-grid calculations from the Township map, assuming 4.8 km/h walking and 15 km/h cycling, and they leave out waits at crossings.
| Trip | Distance | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 208 St and 80 Ave to Yorkson Village (204 St and 80 Ave) | 0.8 km | 10 min walking, 3 to 4 min cycling |
| 208 St and 80 Ave to Yorkson Creek Middle via 208 St and 84 Ave | 1.1 km | 14 min walking, 4 to 5 min cycling |
| 80 Ave between 204 and 212 Streets | 1.6 km | 20 min walking, 6 to 7 min cycling |
Two town-centre addresses scored 49 and 50 on Walk Score in October 2026. It is a private rating for those addresses, not a neighbourhood average. At the town-centre end the grocery, pharmacy and banks share one block, but away from the two shopping hubs most errands are by car. We found no audit of sidewalk gaps or accessible routes, so check the crossings and unfinished frontages on your own route. See also bike lanes and cycling in Langley.
Parking in Yorkson
Check parking at the building and the block, not the neighbourhood. We found no published count of curb occupancy or parking tickets for Yorkson.
- Street rules. The Township has no resident-only parking program. Street space is first come, first served, and the general limit is 72 hours in the same place unless a shorter limit is posted.
- Townhouses and apartments. Ask whether the second space is tandem, whether storage has taken over a garage bay, whether visitor stalls can be used by residents, and whether there is EV charging. Owners aren’t required to provide off-street parking to tenants, so a rental ad has to say what is included.
- Near the park or a school. Drive the block at school dismissal and on an evening when fields are booked. We have no evidence that every such street is full, and no evidence it never is.
- RVs, boats and trailers. An attached RV or trailer may be on the road for 48 hours in total per calendar year. Unattached trailers aren’t allowed. A driveway is subject to its own rules.
- Reporting. A parking violation goes to Bylaw Enforcement (604-532-7551). A speeding or crossing concern goes through the Township’s road-safety form. See the Langley parking guide for the wider rules.
