The shaded area is Brookswood & Fernridge; pins show the places on this page. Boundaries are approximate: check an address against the Township's official maps.

There’s no single main street. Errands in Brookswood happen at a small cluster of shops at 200 Street and 40 Avenue that the Township calls Brookswood Village; in Fernridge they happen about three kilometres south at 200 Street and 24 Avenue. Between the two it’s houses and trees. Here is where the groceries, pharmacies, library and clinics actually are (addresses checked against the Township’s business-licence directory in October 2026, which confirms a business is licensed at an address but not its hours), and what you’ll leave the neighbourhood for.

Which locally run businesses are worth knowing?

  • Cedarbrook Bakery & Deli has moved. Its own site now puts it in the lobby of George Preston Recreation Centre, 20699 42 Avenue, daily 9 am to 5 pm (checked October 2026). It dates its Langley history to 1977. The older 200 Street address still shows up in some directories, so use the new one.
  • Brookswood Brewing Co., 102-4061 200 Street, a taproom with its own hours and events listed on its website.
  • The Artful Dodger Pub, 2364 200 Street in Fernridge, a pub and liquor store; hours are on its own site.
  • Brookswood Dental, 111-4061 200 Street, is one of the dental offices in the village.

More independent Langley businesses are in our Shop Local section.

Is there a farmers’ market or farm stand?

We couldn’t confirm a regular farmers’ market or named farm-gate produce stand inside Brookswood-Fernridge, or a full hardware store in the core. The Township’s 2026 Summer Nights programme places its associated Langley Community Farmers Market at Willoughby Community Park, not here.

Having a clinic nearby doesn’t mean it has room for new patients, and we haven’t found Brookswood-specific wait-time figures. Our health care guide explains how to look for a family doctor and see Langley Memorial Hospital for its services.

What about the library?

Brookswood Library (20045 40 Avenue, 604-534-7055) is a Fraser Valley Regional Library branch. October 2026 hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 9 am to 6 pm, Thursday to Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, closed Sunday and Monday. It has computers, Wi-Fi, copying, printing and scanning, a children’s space and accessible washrooms and parking. The November 2026 calendar lists Storytime, Toddlertime and Babytime on set Wednesdays to Fridays and an afternoon book club on 26 November from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Check the branch calendar for the weeks you want. More in our libraries guide.

Community and seniors’ services

Brookswood Senior Centre, 19899 36 Avenue (604-530-4232), posted a group schedule revised 20 October 2026 with billiards, chess on Monday evenings, duplicate bridge on Wednesdays and Fridays, toning, Zumba, line, square and round dancing, crafts and quilting. Its centre’s history goes back to October 1974. Its Food and Friends lunch flyer is undated, so call before planning around it. See also our seniors’ guide.

Fernridge Community Hall, 2389 200 Street, appears in the Township’s licence directory and its 2018 halls sourcebook, which names the Fernridge Community Hall Society as operator. Ask the society about bookings and classes.

Fire and police

Fire Hall 5 is now at 19950 27 Avenue. The Township announced it fully operational on 16 July 2026, staffed by career and paid-on-call firefighters. It replaces the old hall at 20355 32 Avenue (kept for training), and older web pages still show the old address. Before it opened, the Township modelled an average 3 minute 36 second drop in response time within the hall’s zone; that is a prediction, not a measured result. The Langley RCMP detachment is at 22180 48A Avenue; the non-emergency line is 604-532-3200, and there’s no Brookswood storefront office.

What do I have to leave the neighbourhood for?

A hospital, urgent care and a swimming pool (the nearest is W.C. Blair in Murrayville), the police detachment, and bigger shopping than a grocery run. With a car, the City of Langley’s centre is about 6 minutes from Brookswood Village and 11 minutes from Fernridge, by our no-traffic estimate; see getting around.
