Shops and Services in Walnut Grove: Groceries, Pharmacies, Doctors and Errands

Walnut Grove shops in two clusters, and which one is yours decides how your errands feel. The central one wraps around 88 Avenue, Walnut Grove Drive and 210 Street, next to the pool, library and high school. The western one sits around 200 and 202 Street near 88 Avenue, by the highway and the Carvolth buses. A smaller neighbourhood-commercial and heritage node sits at 96 Avenue and 208 Street, but it isn’t a full town centre.

Where do people do groceries and errands?

The central cluster covers most of a weekly routine in one trip: grocery, pharmacy and hardware. The western one adds a second grocery and a cinema. Businesses below were confirmed open from their own pages or current listings in late October 2026. That doesn’t mean every service is open at every hour, so check hours before you go.

Names to know when you’re searching: Walnut Grove Town Centre (8850 Walnut Grove Drive), Mountain View Plaza (8840 210 Street) and Thunderbird Centre (20159 88 Avenue). These are shopping-centre names, not neighbourhoods.

If you live on the north or east edges, such as Derby Hills or Redwoods, the trip to either cluster is longer than the map suggests. See getting around for how to get to them by bus.

Is there a farmers’ market?

Not in Walnut Grove itself, as far as we could confirm. The nearest is the Fort Langley Village Farmers’ Market at 9025 Glover Road, listed for Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 18 to December 5, 2026. It is in Fort Langley, not here. Our farmers’ markets guide lists others.

For a larger shopping trip, compare the drive toward Willowbrook, because central Walnut Grove doesn’t have a regional mall. We also want to be clear about what is missing here: the hospital and urgent care are south, and SkyTrain needs a bus connection.

Doctors, pharmacies and the hospital

A clinic being nearby doesn’t mean it’s accepting new patients, and we found no Walnut Grove-specific data on how many residents have a family doctor or how long walk-in waits run. Our health care guide explains how to find a provider in Langley.

Library, police and fire

• Library. The Dean Drysdale Library is in the community centre building at 8889 Walnut Grove Drive, 604-882-0410. It’s the branch for Walnut Grove.
• Community policing. The Walnut Grove Community Policing Office is at 108-8850 Walnut Grove Drive, 604-888-0563. Confirm hours before you visit. Langley RCMP’s non-emergency number is 604-532-3200. See Langley RCMP.
• Fire. Township Fire Hall 8 is at 9580 208 Street.
• Post. We could not confirm a current postal counter, so use Canada Post’s locator.

Community, business and faith

The Walnut Grove Willoughby Business Association is a non-profit serving businesses and organizations in Walnut Grove, Port Kells and Willoughby (wwba.ca). It’s a business group, not a residents’ council. We could not confirm a current, formally constituted Walnut Grove residents’ association.

For older adults, the community centre and library are practical starting points. A 55+ group also meets at the Christ Church Walnut Grove campus, 21015 96 Avenue, on the first and third Thursdays, with November 2026 events posted on its page. It’s a church-based program. See our seniors guide.
